Xinglongtai District No. 3 Primary School
Lee Shin Cheol

One day, I asked my father, "What is a well-off life?" Dad opened the conversation box and talked about his childhood life.
Dad said that when he was a child, he used to bring his own lunch box to school, and he would take it out to eat at noon. The weather was warm and good, but in the winter, the north wind was blowing, and there was only one standing stove in the class, so I had to put the rice on the stove and eat it when it was hot. Sometimes there are too many lunch boxes, the heat is not transparent, and the rice in the lunch box is still with ice ballast. Now, I eat nutritious meals at school, and I can eat the taste of the mountains and the sea almost every day in our lunch boxes. There are water purifiers in the classroom, there is student milk between classes, even in the cold winter, we can still drink hot water, drink hot milk, and the classroom is always warm as spring.
When dad was a child, he had very few clothes and a very simple color. Dad was looking forward to the New Year, and Grandma would like to make him a new dress. A dress can be worn for almost a season, the boss wears it for the second, washed white and is not willing to throw it away. And now, every season my mother will buy clothes for me, I have my own exclusive wardrobe, the clothes inside are colorful, there are school uniforms, class uniforms, holidays to wear the clothes bought by my mother, change a dress to change a mood, all year round I have a beautiful scenery.
Dad said that when he was a child, he lived in an earthen house, with evergreen grass on the wall in the spring, and when the roof leaked in the rainy season, catching up with the rainy days, the gable wall collapsed. In 1985, the family built only three brick houses, and the family was happier than the New Year. Now, we have long lived in the building, and in the past few years, we have also lived in the villa. Everyone in the family had their own room, and I had a study and a toy room, which were things my dad couldn't have imagined when he was a kid.
Dad had a particularly limited supply of school supplies when he was in school. After writing the front of a piece of paper, and then writing the reverse, I am not willing to throw it away, and the pencil head cannot be wasted, so I put a paper sleeve on it and continue to use it. I am different now, there are all kinds of books and pens in the supermarket, and sometimes I don't like to use them until I run out. Dad walked to school every day, and when it rained, he was afraid that his shoes would get wet, so he walked barefoot on the ground. Now, I go to school in my car every day, even if it's raining or snowing.
After listening to my father's story, I was silent for a long time, my life is now happy and rich, compared with my father, I live a real well-off life. I want to cherish this hard-won happy life, study hard, improve every day, and contribute to the development of the motherland.
Teacher's comments: This article starts from the father-son conversation, the small author from the aspects of clothing, food, housing, travel and father than childhood, the father's story in the text is full of a heavy sense of age, the son's narrative truly reflects the life of contemporary children, full of happiness, the words reveal the love for a well-off life, thus deeply understanding the true meaning of a well-off life. The ending part sublimates the theme: we must cherish this hard-won happy life and contribute our own strength to the development of the motherland. The whole text is rigorously structured and clearly veined, which is a good work.
