Pig Island is a small island in the Bahamas. The Bahamas is located in the Caribbean Sea of Central America, less than 200 km from the southernmost tip of the United States and Cuba (Figure 1). The scenery here is beautiful and intoxicating.

Pig Island is full of natural springs and is sheltered by neighboring islands and is not hit by the waves caused by tropical storms. Pig Island is inaccessible and is home to a cute group of wild pigs. They frolic in the water, swim in pairs, sleep and sunbathe in the morning on the beach. The happiest pig in the world.

Legend has it that the "ancestors" of these pigs were originally domestic animals, left by sailors long ago when they passed through here, hoping that they would become a food supply for future voyages. But the sailors did not return, and the pigs multiplied on the island.

It is also not far from where Hemingway lived and wrote, and is the birthplace of The Old Man and the Sea. Descendants of his six-toed pet cat can also be seen at Hemingway's house. Six-toed cats are said to bring good luck to sailing.
