Wu Rui, 37, has been working in the Wuhan Children's Welfare Institute for fifteen years.

When she first arrived at the welfare home, she was a nurse in the infant observation class. Recalling the scene on the first day of his employment, Wu Rui still remembers it vividly: "When I came in, I had a very good impression of our unit, and I felt that it was a place full of love, and so were the children. Although I know that many of them are originally unfortunate children, the feeling of seeing them laughing and laughing is special..." Speaking of the children who have been rescued over the years, Wu Rui is like a family treasure. The baby named Xiaoyu'er was abandoned only three days after birth because of a variety of diseases such as and heart disease. When he first entered the hospital, his stomach swelled like he was about to explode, and he vomited dirt from time to time in his mouth, so Wu Rui immediately assisted the doctor to send the baby to the hospital for emergency surgery. After the operation, Wu Rui guarded him at all times, sometimes changing the ostomy tablets more than a dozen times a day.

Suffering from complex heart disease and cleft lip, Wu Fei'er, due to difficulty in eating, has been weak and sick since childhood, often due to respiratory infections, followed by heart failure, and even mood changes.

In the past 10 years in the medical post, Wu Rui has organized the treatment, rehabilitation, and care of nearly 10,000 orphans and disabled babies and abandoned children, participated in the "Tomorrow Plan for the Surgical Rehabilitation of Orphans and Disabled Children", with a nursing coverage rate of 100% for orphans and disabled children, a success rate of 100% in the treatment of orphans and disabled children with feasible surgery, and a rehabilitation participation rate of 100%.
