Sales of PCs and tablets reached 118.1 million units in the quarter, down 3% year-on-year, according to the content. Among them, Chromebook sales were only 4.9 million units, down 60% year-on-year.
It is understood that Apple's total sales of PCs and tablets reached 22.303 million units in the quarter, an increase of 1.1% year-on-year, and the market share reached 18.8%, ranking first in the world; followed by Lenovo, with total sales of 21.088 million units, down 12.2% year-on-year, accounting for 17.8%; HP ranked third with 15.866 million units, down 17.6% year-on-year, and the market share was 13.4%. From this data, it can be found that Apple's sales have indeed surpassed Lenovo and come to the world's first position.
However, this data actually includes the sales of tablets, if you talk about PC devices alone, the gap between Apple and Lenovo is still very large. In the global tablet market, Apple's iPad shipments are 14.881 million units, with a market share of 38.6%, ranking first in the world without a doubt. Samsung ranked second, with sales and market share of only 7.86 million units, 20.4%. In third place is Amazon, with sales of 3.568 million units and a market share of 9.2%. Lenovo can only rank fourth, with sales of 3.004 million units and a market share of 7.8%.
As we all know, the tablet computer market is almost the only Apple iPad, and only Apple will keep the iPad product iterative update every year. Lenovo has even suspended the production of high-end tablet products before, that is, the global epidemic in the past two years, everyone's demand for tablets is urgent, Lenovo, Xiaomi and other manufacturers have resumed the update rhythm of tablet product lines, and have successively brought a number of "Pad" products.
If you put aside the iPad, combined with IDC data, Lenovo's share of the global PC market is 18.3%, ranking first, followed by HP, Dell, and Apple only ranks fourth, with a market share of 8.9%. However, Lenovo and HP sales in the first quarter have fallen sharply, and Apple has maintained a growth of 4.3%, which is indeed gradually shortening the gap with Lenovo, but it is still early to surpass it.
There are many small partners who find that more and more people use MacBooks around, which shows that Apple computers are indeed selling better and better. The rapid sales of MacBooks are closely related to the strong performance of the M1 series chips. If Apple can continue to maintain this advantage and gradually reduce the price of Mac devices, it may be expected to climb higher ranks.
