The F-150 Lightning is built on Ford's new electric modular platform, and the body is made of military-grade aluminum alloy. In terms of power, the F-150 Lightning has two kinds of battery capacity and two driving modes of single motor and dual motor, with a maximum power of 563 horsepower (420 kW), a peak torque of 1051 N·m, and a maximum cruising range of 480 km. The F-150 Lightning also features four-wheel drive for the entire series, with independent rear suspension for overall performance, and the dual-motor version accelerates in just 4.3 seconds from 100 km/h. In terms of trailer and bearing capacity, the F-150 Lightning single motor version has a maximum payload of 907 kg, a maximum drag mass of 2267 kg, a double motor version with a maximum payload of 829 kg, and a maximum drag mass of 4535 kg.

At the same time as the F-150 Lightning was officially put into production, Ford CEO Jim Farley also revealed that after the F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach E and the electric version of the Transit, Ford is considering developing another electric pickup product, and the new car will be produced at the Stanton, Tennessee plant, planned for 2025.
