To celebrate the 20th anniversary of xbox launch in Scotland, Microsoft released a video of the production of a Scottish-style custom Xbox controller. Xbox has created an official Xbox plaid grip to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original Xbox launch in Scotland.
The tartan was co-produced by designer Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers, who has designed the official tartans for the Scottish national football team, Celtic Football Club and Rangers Football Club. The design was subsequently woven by Lochcarron, Scotland's oldest weaving mill on the Scottish border, Selkirk.
The tartan design comes in five colors: RV Green, Viv Green, Apple 13, Black, and White — echoing the Xbox brand's official colors.
To celebrate the birth of the tartan pattern, Xbox UK will host a raffle on its social channel on April 28, where lucky players have a chance to win a custom tartan Xbox controller.
Designer Gordon Nicolson said: "It is an honour to partner with one of the world's largest tech brands. It's a collaboration we didn't expect to connect Scottish skirts to consoles, but we actually share many of our shared values – innovation, creative expression and a sense of heritage. Celebrating Xbox's 20th anniversary together is a perfect marriage for us. ”

It's fantastic that we've been able to work with creators like Gordon Nicolson, who have a great Scottish heritage, while offering some extraordinary things to fans of the game. ”
In addition, Xbox also launched a limited edition translucent Xbox Series X/S controller with the 20th anniversary logo to celebrate its 20th anniversary. When players connect the gamepad to the Xbox Series X/S console, they unlock their own dynamic background.
