Text / First Brew

Mei Yaochen, zi shengyu, famous realist poet of the Northern Song Dynasty. Song Zhenzong Xianping was born in Xuancheng, Anhui Province in the fifth year, and was called Wanling in ancient times, so he was also known as Mr. Wanling. He was on a par with Su Shunqin, known as "Su Mei" by the people of the time, and "Ou Mei" together with Ouyang Xiu, and his poem "The Face of the Kai Song Poetry Generation", he was also known as the "Kaishan Ancestor" of Song Poetry.

So many names, but did not bring any good luck to his life, but the field of science and technology, the career was frustrated, throughout his life sank to the subordinates, and people reached middle age and their wives and children died, miserable for the rest of their lives. It can be said that it is bitter and spicy, but it is sweet but not half a point.

Mei Yaochen was born in a peasant family, from a poor family, but he loved to read and became famous for his poetry very early. However, when he took the township examination at the age of sixteen, he was named Sun Shan. Due to the poverty of his family, he could no longer afford to provide him with education, so he had to go to Luoyang, Henan province with his uncle Mei, to supplement the Taimiao Zailang with Enyin, and later successively served as the chief bookkeeper of Tongcheng, Henan, and Heyang counties.

Because of his talent, he was repeatedly recommended to the emperor by courtiers, and finally in the third year of the emperor's reign, he was summoned by Emperor Renzong of Song and given the title of Tongjinshi. The following year, Mei Yaochen served as a consecrated official as Dr. Taichang.

While serving in Henan, Mei Yaochen was praised by Qian Weiyan, a famous poet of the time and a retainer of Xijing. Because of Qian Weiyan's promotion, he was able to make friends with Ouyang Xiu and other famous literati of the time.

In the fifth year of Jingyou, Mei Yaochen left his post from Jiandezhi County in Zhejiang province to return to his hometown, passing through Raozhou, and Fan Zhongyan, a friend who was then The Governor of Raozhou, invited him to visit Lushan with him. When he was parting, Fan Zhongyan set up a banquet for him to send off, and at the banquet, someone talked about the pufferfish.

The image of the puffer fish is very ugly, the fish body is short, the head and abdomen are fat, when encountering the enemy, it inhales and expands like a ball, also known as "blowing belly fish", "disgust fish", "bubble fish" and so on. However, this strange and ugly fish is surprisingly delicious, and after being cooked, it is "fresh and smooth, like cheese, sweet and sweet", and is called "Xi Shi Milk". However, such a delicious thing is highly poisonous, and if it is not cooked properly, "the mouth is rotten, the stomach is rotten, and the person dies immediately." ”

His poems were called good medicine by Ouyang Xiu, but his wife died and his son died, and his life was miserable

The more everyone talked, the more energetic they became, and the more Mei Yaochen listened to it, the more interested he became, and he couldn't help but feel the poetry flourish, and a poem was born in the middle of his life:

Spring islands are full of buds, and spring shores are flying poplar flowers.

Puffer fish when it is, expensive fish and shrimp.

Its appearance is already strange, and its poison is also moga.

If the belly is sealed, the angry eyes are like Wu frogs.

The fry is lost, and the throat is pierced.

If this body is lost, why should it be toothed?

Questioning the southerners, the party protected the reticence.

All words are beautiful, who is dead like a numb!

I couldn't bend my words and thought to myself.

Retreat to the sun, and start to fear the caged snake.

Zi Hou lives in Liuzhou, while sweet shrimp toads.

Although the two things are abominable, there is no difference in life.

Si Wei was once incomparable, and there was no end to the disaster in Tibet.

It is also said that this is a praiseworthy statement.

——" Fan Raozhou Sits in the Middle Language to Eat Puffer Fish"

The text of this poem is not beautiful, like a rural villager, sitting on the field and talking. However, the whole poem is popular, simple and natural, without any embellishment, but the shape, taste and sex of the puffer fish are vivid and vivid, and they are ready to come out. Ouyang Xiu especially admired this poem, calling it a song: "The puffer fish often swims on the water in groups out of late spring, eating and fat. The southern people are mostly soup with hagi buds, and the clouds are the most beautiful. Therefore, the poet who knows the poem only breaks the title twice, and has exhausted the benefits of the pufferfish. Shengyu Ping suffered from chanting in his life, and his intention was to idle and ancient, so his conception was extremely difficult. This poem was written between the bottles, and the pen was powerful and instantaneous, so it became a masterpiece. ”

Ouyang Xiu not only regarded this poem as a song that has been sung for eternity, but also regarded it as a good medicine for curing diseases. He once wrote in the "Shumei Shengyu Puffer Fish Poem": "Yuyou Mei Shengyu gave this "Puffer Fish" poem on the seat of Fan Raozhou, and yu was not healthy in every body, and the number of recitations was too good, and he also wrote many books to show people as a strange gift. ”

I don't know if this poem is some magic magic, Ouyang Xiu read this poem aloud several times every time he is unwell, and then the disease will not be cured. As a result, Ouyang Xiu cherished this poem even more, and even copied it down and gave it to his friends as a rare treasure. Mei Yaochen was also known as the "Plum Pufferfish" because of this poem.

Although his poetry has such magic, life has not given him half a favor. If his career did not go well, his family left him one by one. As the saying goes, "losing a wife in middle age and losing a son in old age" is the greatest tragedy in life, and these have all met Mei Yaochen.

His poems were called good medicine by Ouyang Xiu, but his wife died and his son died, and his life was miserable

Mei Yaochen married a woman surnamed Xie at the age of twenty-seven, and after the marriage, the two of them carried each other and relied on each other. In Mei Yaochen's eyes, his wife is the most perfect woman in the world, and he thought that two people could go to Baishou together. Unexpectedly, in the summer of the fourth year of the Celebration Calendar, Mei Yaochen and his wife Xie Shi returned to Beijing by boat, and when they walked to Gaoyou Sangou, their wife Xie Shi suddenly fell ill and died on the ship. Yu Yu buried incense, leaving him with only endless thoughts and sorrows.

Married as a couple, seventeen years ago.

It is not enough to look at, let alone a long donation!

How white are my sideburns, how long is this body?

Finally with the same cave, not dead tears ripples.

Every birth is like a dream, and every person is strong.

Returning still lonely, to whom do you want to speak?

The window is cold and lonely, and the night is long and a goose passes.

There is no most bitter in the world, and it is refreshing to grind this pin.

There has always been a short repair, how dare you ask the heavens?

See all the women of the world, no one is as beautiful and virtuous.

For example, if the fool lives, why not leave his year?

Endure this city treasure and bury it in the Nine Springs.

——The Three Poems of Mourning

It's been seventeen years since they've been married, but they're still tired of looking at each other. In Mei Yaochen's eyes, Xie Shi is beautiful and virtuous, and women in the world are incapable. But now, the Si people have gone, alone in the cold window, he can't help but burst into tears.

His poems were called good medicine by Ouyang Xiu, but his wife died and his son died, and his life was miserable

Losing a wife in middle age is already a sad thing in the world. However, misfortune was never a one-way affair, and not long after his wife's death, his second son died prematurely. For a time, the wife died and the child died, and the pain in the world was greater than this.

Heaven has lost my wife and my Son.

Although the eyes have not dried up, the heart will want to die.

The rain fell into the ground and the beads sank to the bottom of the sea.

Beads can be seen in the sea, and water can be seen in the excavations.

Only when people return to the spring, all eternity has been known.

Ask whoever it is, haggard in the ghost.

- "Book Lament"

The words were sad, and the sentences were tearful, as if I saw the old man in tears, asking the heavens over and over again, why, why I took away my most beloved wife, and then plundered my lovely son. Just like raindrops falling to the ground, whiskers melt into the mud, pearls sink to the bottom of the sea, disappearing without a trace. However, when you go to the sea, you can also look for beads, dig three feet into the ground, and you can always see the water source. However, when people return to Huangquan, it is difficult to find any traces.

Even when Mei Yaochen was stumbling and crying sadly, fate still did not want to let him go.

His poems were called good medicine by Ouyang Xiu, but his wife died and his son died, and his life was miserable

He later remarried to Diao Shi and got another daughter, thinking that he could temporarily forget his sadness, but before his smile could fully bloom, his daughter, who was less than half a year old, died again.

The parents of the living Ru are happy, and the parents of the dead Ru are injured.

If I have a loss, why not live a long life?

The crows are full of spring, and the bees are full of summer.

Poisonous claws and evil noises are born and fly.

Reason is incomprehensible, and tears are wept to the heavens.

- "The Title of the Little Girl Who Died on March 21"

No one knows how sad he really is in his heart, and perhaps the word sadness is difficult to describe his mood. He couldn't help but ask himself, is it because of my virtue that my sons and daughters are not long?? Mei Yaochen studied medical books in his hometown during his mother's funeral, often treating the diseases of his neighbors; when he served in Beijing, he did not enter the door of the powerful.

Throughout his life, it can be said that he is a rare loyal and upright man, but fate is so unfair to him that he is hit him head-on again and again. His poetry can be a cure for others, but who can heal his broken heart?

Jiayou was five years old, and after he had just finished revising the New Book of Tang, he unfortunately fell ill and died at the age of fifty-nine. In order to reward him for his merits, Song Renzong specially appointed one of his sons as officials, which may be a little comfort given to him by fate.
