World of Warcraft director clarifies console version rumors: this is pure PC game

Over the past few years, there have been a series of rumors that World of Warcraft will be ported to the console. Recently, the discussion about the console version has heated up again due to Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard and the enticing idea of the Xbox version, just as Final Fantasy XIV can be played on PS. But for now, at least, World of Warcraft game director Ion Hazzikostas dismisses those hopes.

In an interview with IGN on the new expansion pack "Age of dragons," Hazzikostas was asked if a console version would be launched, especially since it was officially announced that a UI overhaul program would be launched as part of the expansion pack.

Hazzikostas dismissed that idea, saying, "I think World of Warcraft is a PC-based game. I think we've been looking at ways that add-ons are sometimes getting needed, or like the first thing someone is told when they first enter the game is: 'Hey, go download this add-on and move these things', and we want to do better for our players. ”
