The new bmw 7 series code-named G70 and its pure electric model i7 will officially debut at 19:30 today (April 20). However, overseas media have leaked some official pictures of the new car in advance.
Both new cars are based on the upgraded CLAR architecture, and there will be plug-in hybrid models in addition to regular fuel models and pure electric models. This will also make this model the only model in its class to offer three powertrains.
As can be seen from the released pictures, the new car will be built in BMW's latest family language, and the split headlights break the traditional design language of the BMW family, which can be seen from the new X7 released not long ago. In the future, this design will be used in more BMW products. The new car's C-pillar tilted as far as possible to form a short-tailed slipback design, and the Horns on the C-pillar were retained, but reinterpreted.
In terms of interior, the new car adopts a new shape of flat-bottom steering wheel, equipped with a 12.3-inch with 14.9-inch dual screen design, the overall design is very simple, and the seat adjustment lever is transplanted to the door. The leaked images also show that the rear of the new car has a large display.
In terms of power, the new BMW 7 Series may be equipped with two power configurations: a 3.0T in-line six-cylinder turbo engine and a 4.4T V8 twin-turbo engine. 3.0T will also be divided into high and low adjustments. The gearbox is still an 8-speed automatic transmission. The new car will also be available in a plug-in hybrid version. The BMW i7 will be equipped with the same fifth-generation eDrive technology as the BMW iX.
