Statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that the mainland has promoted 10.33 million new energy vehicles, becoming an important force leading the electrification transformation of the global automotive industry.
Since the beginning of this year, new energy vehicles have shown a development trend of "accelerated improvement" of market scale and development quality, and the industrial scale has reached a new high. The cumulative production and sales of new energy vehicles in the first quarter were 1.293 million units and 1.257 million units, respectively, an increase of 1.4 times year-on-year, exceeding the level of the whole year of 2019. The market penetration rate has reached 19.3%, an increase of 11.4 percentage points year-on-year, and an increase of 5.9 percentage points from the whole of 2021.
Luo Junjie, spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and director of the Operation Monitoring and Coordination Bureau: The cumulative sales volume of New Energy Passenger Vehicles of Chinese brands increased by more than 1.5 times year-on-year, higher than the overall growth rate of the market. In the total sales of passenger cars, Chinese brands accounted for 75.1%, an increase of 2 percentage points over the same period last year.
Driven by the demonstration operation of fuel cell vehicles, the pilot of the new energy vehicle power exchange model and the support of relevant policies, the cumulative production and sales of fuel cell vehicles increased by 7.2 times and 3.9 times respectively year-on-year, and the cumulative output of power exchange models was close to 40,000 units, an increase of 82% year-on-year. At present, a total of 492,000 charging piles of various types have been built, an increase of 3.6 times year-on-year, of which 85,000 are public piles and 407,000 private piles, an increase of 1 times and 5 times respectively year-on-year; there are 154 completed replacement power stations, an increase of 1.6 times. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will continue to carry out the pilot work of new energy vehicles going to the countryside and the power exchange mode, and start the pilot project of fully electrifying vehicles in the public sector. And accelerate the construction of charging and replacing facilities, promote the realization of information sharing, unified settlement, while resolutely cracking down on unfair competition such as price gouging, and promote the return of raw material prices to rationality as soon as possible.
