Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its global production plan for May, with a target of producing approximately 750,000 vehicles (200,000 units in Japan and 550,000 units overseas).
Toyota plans to temporarily reduce production from April to June due to the persistence of chip supply shortages, and production in May is about 100,000 fewer units than the target set at the beginning of the year. In addition, Toyota expects to produce an average of about 800,000 units worldwide from May to July this year.
The Production Plan for May is as follows: Of the 28 production lines at 14 plants, 10 production lines at 9 plants will be temporarily reduced, involving models including: Toyota Corolla, Prius, C-HR, RAV4, Lexus LS, IS, RC, NX, CT, UX and other models.
