Patrick Plourde, creative director of Children of Light, Watch Dogs 2 and Far Cry 3, has now left Ubisoft, where he has worked for nearly 20 years and as a level designer for the Assassin's Creed series. Plourde says he will open a new independent consultancy that will allow him to venture beyond the games he has been following for a long time and continue working with Ubisoft outside of his traditional corporate structure.

Axios then released an official statement from Ubisoft in which Ubisoft confirmed Patrick Plourde's departure, but he still advises on the requirements of the company's internal creative director and certain projects of the editorial team.
