1. Activision Blizzard appoints new officials to ensure diversity and inclusion are included in the game design

Activision Blizzard has appointed Kristen Hines as its new Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. Activision Blizzard said Hines will work across all of its game teams.

"To ensure that diverse and inclusive perspectives are included in the game design, including storyline, character development, gameplay, and community interaction." She will fulfill Activision Blizzard's commitment to increase the number of female and non-binary employees by 50% over the next five years.

2. Borderlands developer parent plans to spend another $8 billion on acquisitions

Borderlands developer Gearbox's parent company, the Swedish Empirer Group, also has a number of well-known developers and publishers such as 4A Games and THQ Nordic. Since 2020, the Swedish company has made 62 acquisitions worth up to $8.1 billion.

In an interview with foreign media, CEO Lars Wingefors said they plan to make the same size acquisition in the next few months or years. He also mentioned that he wanted to invest in the free field and said that he was willing to buy Chinese studios.

Capcom officially announced that Capcom Arcade 2 will land on Switch, PS4, XBoxone and PC platforms on June 24, and the series contains 32 retro arcade games from Capcom's history.
