The Creative Director of Children of Light leaves Ubisoft but still provides consulting services to Ubisoft

Recently, veteran Ubisoft developer Patrick Plourde left Ubisoft after nearly 20 years of work, and he served as the creative director of Children of Light, Watch Dogs 2 and Far Cry 3. In the future, he will start his own independent creative consultancy, but he will still work with it outside of Ubisoft's traditional corporate structure.

Plourde told Axios that he will still spend most of his future career with Ubisoft, but he will be offered a position outside the traditional corporate structure (with multi-department authorization). And he will also venture into the long-watched field outside of the game, which does not require the employer's permission.

Axios journalist Stephen Totilo tweeted a Ubisoft statement about it, in which Ubisoft said they confirmed that Plourde had left Ubisoft, but he would advise some of the company's creative directors and editorial team.

Since joining Ubisoft, Plourde has held various positions in several of the company's larger series. For example, the level designer of the Assassin's Creed series and the creative director of Far Cry 3. He joined the company's in-house editorial team after finishing work on Children of Light and Watchdog 2 until this announcement that he was leaving Ubisoft.
