Ubisoft's troubled Remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has changed developers

Ubisoft revealed that the development of a remake of its new game, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake, is in trouble, originally scheduled to be released last January, but has now moved to a new studio, announcing that it will be released "when it's ready."

A remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was developed by Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai (Indian team) before the project was announced today, but the project has been plagued by setbacks since its unveiling in September 2020. Shortly after its announcement, Ubisoft moved its release date from January 2021 to March of the same year, but there was a second delay in February, this time indefinitely, and the team is working hard to provide "a remake that is both faithful to the original and fresh" in its entirety.

Then in an update last June, the release date of the remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was revised to 2022, and everything has been quiet since then.

Now, however, Ubisoft has announced the studio changes on Twitter, writing: "The development of a remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time will now be led by Ubisoft Montreal, the birthplace of the epic Prince of Persia trilogy." “

"This decision is an important step, and the team, building on the work done in Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, will now use the time they need to recombine the scope of the game to provide the player with the best experience when this classic game remake is ready."
