In the mid-winter of 1965, when the construction of the channel of the Zhanghe Reservoir in the Gangneung (present-day Jingzhou Ancient City) area was underway, when the workers were in the process of intense excavation, the commander suddenly found that the soil was soft and there were traces of landfill. The commander judged that there was a high probability that there was an ancient tomb, so he reported it to the Antiquities Bureau. Thus began an unexpected archaeological excavation.

What surprised the archaeologists most was that there were two lines of bird seal inscriptions engraved on the sword body, a total of eight characters. This ancient script history is called the "Bird and Worm Book", which is a variation of the seal book, and it is quite difficult to interpret.
At first, Guo Moruo thought it was: "Shao Shui, the king of Qi, uses a chain from the beginning." "Shao Shui was the inner response of the Chu state in the Yue kingdom, and was crowned as the King of Yue for his merits.
