WangshanQiao No. 1 Tomb is another large-scale Chu tomb excavated in Hubei Province after The Chu Tombs such as Wangshan No. 1 Tomb, Tianxingguan No. 1 Tomb, and Baoshan No. 2 Tomb. Although the tomb was stolen twice, a number of important funerary artifacts have been unearthed. Such as rare national treasure level cultural relics painted lacquered wooden reclining deer and these 3 bronze swords. Located in Jingzhou, Hubei Province, this ancient tomb is a typical Chu tomb in the middle of the Warring States period.
As we all know, the specifications of Chu tombs in Hubei are very high, whether it is tomb Chinese objects or ancient tomb specifications are the highest in history. Nowadays, a large number of national precious cultural relics collected by the Hubei Provincial Museum are excavated from the Chu tombs in Hubei, and among the Chu tombs excavated by archaeology, the Warring States Chu Tomb is the most. These Warring States Chu tombs include the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng, which is a rare tomb, the tomb of No. 1 in Wangshan, which has unearthed a rare sword, and the Tomb of Guodian No. 1 chu, which has unearthed Guodian Chujian. And what is the origin of this Wangshan Bridge No. 1 Tomb, and what kind of rare national treasures have been unearthed in the tomb?
The story begins in 2012, when the staff of the Jingzhou Museum in Hubei Province found a Warring States tomb near the Wangshan Chu Tomb, that is, the Wangshan Bridge No. 1 Chu Tomb, which archaeologists thought was well preserved. However, after archaeological testing, it was found that the tomb had suffered serious damage due to vehicle vibration, sewage infiltration and other reasons, and had to be rescued archaeological excavation immediately. After obtaining the permission of the archaeologists to excavate, the local archaeologists carried out a rescue excavation of the tomb, but during the excavation, the archaeologists accidentally found a 5-meter-deep robbery hole.
After the 5-meter robbery hole appeared in this Warring States tomb, archaeologists were very discouraged, thinking that the Chinese of the tomb would be excavated by the tomb robbers, in fact, the robbery hole dug by the tomb robbers did not dig into the main burial chamber and the burial chamber where the funerary products were placed, but dug a funerary pit, that is to say, although the tomb Chinese was lost, it did not pose a fatal threat to the tomb. Finally, archaeologists unearthed hundreds of precious artifacts from the tomb, including lacquerware artifacts, bronze artifacts, and jade artifacts. Among the many artifacts, the most confusing thing for archaeologists is a broken black box.
What is this broken black box unearthed by archaeology used for? Archaeologists don't know at first, otherwise they wouldn't have doubted. Curious archaeologists opened the black chest and found that there were 3 bronze swords hidden inside. For archaeologists, it is not surprising that a large-scale Chu tomb unearthed bronze swords, the strange thing is that this tomb unearthed 3 at one time, and these 3 bronzes have both the shape of Wuyue bronze swords and the characteristics of Chu sword bronzes, that is to say, the 3 swords unearthed in the tomb are most likely cast by craftsmen brought back after the Chu state destroyed Wu Yue.
These 3 swords are not ordinary cultural relics, but rare national treasure-level cultural relics, even if the sword is not as precious as the Yue Wang Gou Jian sword, it is not comparable to the general historical ancient sword. Archaeologists compared these 3 swords with the Warring States swords unearthed earlier, and found that two of them were very similar to the Wu Wang Fu Cha Sword, while the other one was not only similar in appearance to the Yue Wang Gou Jian Sword, but also had a metal memory and the function of a thousand years of stainless steel. These swords are not only the representative cultural relics of the Cold Weapon Era, but also the inheritance of China's 5,000 years of history and culture.
