Looking at XiaoXin's cheerful smile, the medical staff who accompanied her through this period of rehabilitation were very happy and relieved.

One day at the end of September 2021, 7-year-old Xiaoxin suddenly had a high fever of more than 40 degrees at home, with headaches, vomiting, intermittent convulsions, and loss of consciousness. Due to the critical situation, Xiaoxin was sent by her family to the emergency pediatric department of the Tianxin Pavilion Branch of Hunan Provincial People's Hospital and transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Center (PICU) for treatment. After examination, the child was finally diagnosed with intracranial hemorrhage and cerebrovascular malformation. Subsequently, the medical staff opened a green channel and performed emergency hematoma removal and arteriovenous malectomy for the child. Two weeks after the operation, Xiao xin finally regained consciousness, but the most basic motor functions such as sitting and standing and daily living ability could not be completed. "The child is only 7 years old, what if it is like this in the future?" Xiao Xin's mother said sadly.

After discussing with medical staff, in early October 2021, Xiaoxin was transferred to the rehabilitation treatment room of the Mawangdui Branch of the Provincial People's Hospital to continue treatment. After a perfect specialist examination and precise assessment, the medical team led by Professor Cai Hua'an, director of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Pan Li, deputy chief physician, and Zuo Ruoqun, deputy chief therapist, formulated a personalized rehabilitation plan for her, with the main goals of promoting motor ability, correcting posture abnormalities, improving proprioception, strengthening motor function and self-care ability in daily life, so that she can achieve the same quality of learning and life of children of the same age.

At the beginning, Xiao Xin's left muscle tone was abnormal, the left limb movement was severely impaired, the balance between sitting and standing was completely incapable, and all daily living activities were dependent. Rehabilitation therapists such as Zuo Ruoqun, Fang Jun, and Yan Yuzhang implement intensive, precise, and scientific rehabilitation treatments such as large and small joint loosening technology, muscle stretching technology, nerve stimulation technology, physical factor therapy, and sensory integration training.

In order to avoid the boring treatment process and reduce Xiaoxin's resistance to repeated actions, and improve the treatment effect, the rehabilitators also carry out personalized, entertaining and highly compliant rehabilitation treatment for her through different ways such as telling jokes, playing games, guessing riddles, etc., which greatly improves Xiaoxin's rehabilitation efficiency and treatment effect.

After more than a month of treatment, Xiaoxin's limb motor function has been significantly improved, her muscle strength has improved, and her muscle tone has decreased. In December 2021, Xiaoxin successfully stood up. When Xiaoxin's mother saw that she could get out of bed and stand up, she sighed with tears: "After more than 2 months, we can finally get out of bed, which makes us see the hope of a complete recovery."

Xiaoxin's recovery progress at each stage touched everyone's heart, and the other patients in the ward were also very touched to see Xiaoxin's recovery, often encouraging her and making her happy. And Xiao Xin seems to feel everyone's love for her, whenever someone teases her, she will always smile at everyone and compare hearts. From sitting to standing, to walking, running and jumping, When Xiaoxin's father saw the child running over again and hugging him and calling him "Daddy", he also shed tears of excitement. Through the unremitting efforts of rehabilitation therapists and the active cooperation of Xiaoxin and her family, Xiaoxin exercises without hindrance, lives independently, fully recovers, and can return to school.

"Children's rehabilitation is unfamiliar to many people, and many families often delay the best treatment time for their children due to their lack of understanding of rehabilitation." Director Cai Huaan introduced that children like Xiaoxin, who have been paralyzed by illness or accidental injury, are increasing year by year. Although the disease is terrible, if it can be treated with scientific, accurate and early rehabilitation, it can give everyone a different quality of life.

Director Cai Huaan said that if children suffer from various diseases such as encephalitis, cerebral hemorrhage, head injury, impaired consciousness, spinal cord injury, swallowing disorders, movement disorders, etc., early interventional treatment for children's rehabilitation is very important and necessary. Early rehabilitation can prevent and improve various functional disorders of patients in a timely and effective manner, promote the early recovery of brain and limb function, reduce the burden on family and society, and enable patients to return to the family and society earlier.
