Magazine battery system safety technology (hereinafter referred to as "magazine battery") was launched by GAC, and when the magazine battery came out, it was claimed that for the first time, the whole package of ternary lithium batteries could not catch fire, overcoming the recognized industry problems and redefining the safety standards of ternary lithium batteries. So how do magazine batteries do it?
First of all, in terms of structure, it adopts the magazine safety compartment design, and its battery module looks like a magazine placed in the battery pack, which is why it is named the magazine battery. It will be each battery pack in the individual cells are independent of the safety compartment, so that it can effectively block the spread of thermal runaway cells.
In addition to structural design optimization, it also covers four core technologies, including ultra-high heat-resistant and stable cells, ultra-thermal insulation battery safety chambers, extremely fast cooling three-dimensional cooling systems, and full-time control of the fifth generation of battery management systems.
Ultra-high heat resistance and stability of the battery cell realizes the self-repair of SEI membrane through nanoscale coating and doping technology of cathode materials, and the application of new additives. High safety electrolyte, self-polymerizing high impedance interfacial membrane, greatly reducing thermal runaway reaction heat. The application of this series of key technologies has increased the heat resistance temperature of the battery cell by 30%.
As a ternary lithium battery, in order to achieve high safety, it is not enough to improve the cell level. The magazine battery adopts super thermal insulation battery safety compartment, grid nanopore heat melting material, so that adjacent cells can not have thermal runaway. This battery safety compartment is equivalent to a magazine, the battery cell and the battery cell are separated, and the battery pack adopts a high-temperature resistant housing that can withstand a high temperature of 1400 ° C.
The ultra-fast cooling system adopts a fully bonded liquid cooling integrated system, which increases the heat dissipation area of the magazine battery by 40% and the heat dissipation efficiency by 30% through the efficient heat dissipation channel design and high-precision heat conduction path design.

The magazine battery can be said to improve the safety of the battery in all aspects from the design of hardware to software, but it is not perfect, and things always have advantages and disadvantages. Although the safety of the magazine battery in the use of ternary lithium batteries is really good, the design of the heat barrier and a variety of systematic interventions will increase the quality and volume of the battery pack, and the energy density may decrease compared with the ordinary ternary lithium battery pack. Of course, fish and bear paws can't have both, and it's not impossible to sacrifice a little battery performance for greater security.
