His father, Zhang Shoucheng, was born in 1918 in Xinzhuang Town, Shanghai County ,now Minhang District, Shanghai. Under the influence of his grandfather, he loved calligraphy and painting since childhood, and was admitted to the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts at the age of eighteen.

During the Republic of China, the "Meijing Bookstore" in Shanghai was the name of mr. Wu Hufan, a famous collector, connoisseur and calligrapher, and his father, Zhang Shoucheng, entered the "Meijing Bookstore" with eight people including Lu Shufei, Xu Bangda, Zhu Meicun, and Yu Zicai in July 1939. When he officially worshiped the teacher, his father was 21 years old, which was a young and studious year, and it was really like a fish to enter the "Meijing Bookstore".
