The only production base of Versailles C5 X in the world, DPCA Chengdu Factory, is a "benchmark factory" built by Dongfeng Group and STEELANTIS Group, with four major process workshops to achieve highly automated production.
Stamping: Versailles C5 X selects high-strength steel and advanced high-strength steel as materials in 80% of the whole body. Through the two industry-leading fully enclosed high-speed automatic stamping lines in the stamping workshop, the four-sequence production mode is used to realize the fully automated production of stamping, and the stamping accuracy control is efficiently ensured to be within 0.01mm.
Welding: There are 491 robots working synchronously in the intelligent welding workshop, and the automation rate has reached 100%. The oversized hexahedral horizontal rotary table allows a single line to produce six large body parts simultaneously.
Laser welding technology uses high-power laser beams up to 6000W as energy to carry out tightly seamless high-precision welding of body side walls and roofs. In addition, online monitoring of body-in-white geometry can also effectively avoid the outflow of non-conforming products.
After the welding process is off the line, the factory will regularly randomly select a car body for a broken inspection experiment to ensure the integrity of the product solder joints and the safety of the whole vehicle.
Painting: The painting workshop is equipped with 68 robots to realize the high-quality fine painting process inside and outside the vehicle. The silane process used saves up to 50% less energy than the old phosphating process and has no heavy metal emissions.
Final assembly: The assembly workshop realizes the parts collection rate of up to 95% through advanced logistics mode. The body chassis is fully automatically fitted and tightened, and the key assembly parameters are monitored and traced throughout the process.
After the assembly is completed, each Versailles C5 X must also pass 241 strict inspections such as vehicle initialization inspection, functional inspection, front wheel forward speed adjustment, four-wheel positioning detection, and rain. In addition to the quality inspection area, there are also international first-class factory special runways with a total length of 4.5 kilometers, providing 100% runway tests and 21 kinds of full road condition road tests.
In the vehicle development stage, in addition to the conventional "high temperature, high altitude, high cold" three high experiments, Versailles C5 X also needs to go through the open road user simulation "catching insects" experiment with a total mileage of more than 2 million kilometers, and through a large number of experimental vehicles put into the actual road for "fatigue test" to find out the problems missing in the development.
In terms of production capacity, the production capacity of the Chengdu plant is being steadily released to ensure that the vehicle is not affected by the epidemic and can be delivered to customers on time.
