63 Tao Te Ching General Explanation Chapter 63

The original text is mainly based on the book "Lao Tzu" excavated from Mawangdui. The blue font is the original text of the first and second books of the Book of Lao Tzu. The red font is the original mutilated and replaced by posterity.

original:

For nothing, for nothing, for nothing. How big or small, revenge to virtue. The picture is difficult to be easy, and it is too big to be detailed. The difficulty of the world is easy, and the great work of the world is fine. It is that the saints are not great in the end, so they can become great. He who is light on promises will be unbelieving, and the easy will be more difficult, and it is the saints who are difficult, so finally there is no difficulty.

exegesis:

For nothing: ◇ none, spirit. ☆ For the spirit of doing.

Taste: ◇ taste, taste, experience. ◇ No, is the original word for "taste"; taste, taste. ☆ Taste the taste of the spirit. That is, to experience the effect of the spirit.

Revenge with virtue: ◇ The original meaning is to subdue and sentence sinners. By extension, it is the upload of information, reports, and because the upload of information needs to be answered, it also extends the exchange of information, such as newspapers, telegrams. Extended from "information exchange" to "material exchange", reward, retaliation, service, and return. ◇ Resentment, dissatisfaction, blame; complaining, complaining, resentment. ☆ Subdue resentment is used to gain. Only by restraining discontent can we get it.

Figures are difficult and easy: ◇ Figure, the original meaning refers to ancient maps; extended to depiction, and later extended to thinking, seeking, planning. ◇ Hu, yes, depends. ☆ Planning difficult things depends on the easy part of things.

It is the sage who is difficult: ◇ You, plan, plan. Historically, it was a variant of "Judah". ☆ Therefore, it is difficult for saints to plan.

So finally there is no difficulty: ◇ none, spirit, consciousness, thinking. ◇ Sanqing, in ancient times, referred to Situ, Sima and Sikong; generally refers to high-ranking officials. ☆ So in the end it is difficult to think about the problem.

General:

For nothing, for nothing, for nothing.

Do what the spirit does, do the spirit, and experience the effect of the spirit.

★ Protons radiate electromagnetic fields, and electrons absorb electromagnetic fields. Electromagnetism is the "spirit" that all things have. Spirit is the so-called "nothingness", and matter is the so-called "being".

Electromagnetic fields create repulsive forces between homosexual substances (two protons or two electrons are mutually exclusive) and cause attraction between heterosexual substances (protons and electrons are mutually attracted).

If there is an interaction between substances through spirit, it is possible to trigger movement. As for whether it can eventually trigger movement, it depends on whether the force generated by the spirit can overcome the inertia of one of the substances. For details, see Truth and Wisdom.

Because spirit is the cause of the interaction between matter, "everything" in the universe (the development of motion) is the work of spirit.

All human behavior is controlled by his own spirit, and the ability of the spirit to control the movement of man is the so-called "intelligence". Therefore, people must first learn to "use their brains", not only to "think" about what to do and how to do it, but also to "think" about whether their "ideas" are reasonable and feasible. This is "for nothing, for nothing, for nothing."

How big or small, revenge to virtue.

The big and the small are more and less (don't worry about it), and only by overcoming dissatisfaction can they be obtained.

★ People generally like more, like big, don't like less, don't like small. People complain when they are assigned to do small things (with dissatisfaction); they complain when they are paid less for their labor. Once people have a grudge, they cannot do things seriously, but are blamed, deducted wages, and even expelled; thus they do not get the remuneration they deserve, and even lose the opportunity to get paid for their labor. Therefore, it is recommended that people overcome their dissatisfaction in order to gain something. If you complain, you must not complain, and you must repay the grievance with virtue.

"Repaying grievances with virtue" was interpreted by posterity as "repaying the resentment of others with virtue.". This is grossly misleading and contrary to the content of this chapter. The content of this chapter is to tell people how to do things, and it is recommended that people start from small things and easy things, and cannot be greedy and greedy from the beginning.

The difficult things that are plotted depend on where things are simple, and the big things that are done depend on the details of things. The difficult things under the world are composed of simple parts, and the big things under the world are composed of details. Therefore, the saints never do great things, so they can achieve great things. People who make promises easily are bound to have insufficient credibility, and simple things are bound to be difficult, which is why it is difficult for saints to plan, so it is ultimately difficult to think about problems.

★ Atoms are relatively simple, and everything is composed of atoms under the action of spirit. Different mental effects generate different objects. Ten thousand high-rise buildings are flat from the ground, which is accumulated brick by brick and tile according to a certain method, and the high-rise buildings are created differently depending on the method. Methods are thought out by man and are products of the spirit.

It is not that there is no difficulty, but that "it is difficult to establish a spiritual relationship.". Turning hydrogen and oxygen into water (even if a mental relationship between hydrogen and oxygen atoms is established) requires harsh conditions. For intelligent humans, it is difficult to establish relationships between information, that is, to think about problems.

If people want to do big things and difficult things, they must first think about the details and simple parts of things. The quality of the bricks is good, and the quality of the high-rise buildings is good. Details determine quality, determine success or failure. Basic science is the hardest and most important. In short, because thinking about problems is the hardest thing to do, the most fundamental problem is the intellectual problem. Monkeys can do human things if they have human intelligence. People with high intelligence do things that people with low intelligence can understand.

keynote:

Thinking about problems is the hardest thing to do. It is recommended that people start with the simplest details. Intelligence determines the quality of details.

In the same way, if one can deeply understand the exact meaning of each text, it is not difficult to read ancient texts.
