We all know that

Heart disease

It is the number one killer who threatens human health and life

Everyday life

Some people experience panic, shortness of breath, and fatigue

Even frequent urination when the heart is flustered

You will suspect that something is wrong with your heart

As a result, I went to the hospital for a check-up

You will find that it is always indispensable in the report

Atrial fibrillation!

How much do you know about atrial fibrillation?

Normal people's heart rhythm activity is regular, and the normal frequency of activity is 60 to 100 times per minute. Atrial fibrillation, on the other hand, is the loss of rhythmic electrical activity in the atrium.

In its place is a disordered wave of atrial fibrillation, which can reach frequencies of 350 to 600 beats per minute. After ATRI nodal conduction, the ventricular rate tends to reach more than 100 times per minute, and even more than 200 times per minute.

The presentation of these patients can vary, and clinically, we generally classify them according to the frequency of their seizures:

01

Sometimes seizures

(Mostly refers to duration of no more than 1 week, more within 48 hours)

Self-terminating, called paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, is the early stage of the disease, when treatment is best and less mind-free, and normal sinus rhythms can be restored and maintained over time.

02

Non-stop seizures

(lasts more than 1 week)

It cannot be terminated naturally, which is called "persistent atrial fibrillation", which is equivalent to the intermediate stage, and the treatment effect is slightly worse than that of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.

03

Long-term sustainment

(Usually lasts for more than 1 year)

It cannot be terminated without the help of medical technology, which is called "persistent atrial fibrillation". If medical technology fails to terminate or the patient abandons the transmutation, it is called "permanent atrial fibrillation," which is equivalent to the advanced stage of the disease.

Many patients with atrial fibrillation are not very pronounced

Atrial fibrillation was detected during the physical examination

Ambulatory fibrillation was detected on physical examination

What should we do?

These people have to beware of atrial fibrillation!

At present, the total number of atrial fibrillation patients in mainland China is about 8 million to 10 million. Atrial fibrillation and other heart diseases are often concomitant. In other words, people like coronary heart disease, heart failure, advanced age, high blood pressure, diabetes, alcohol consumption, and even obesity are all risk factors for atrial fibrillation.

Moreover, with the aging of the population and the spread of unhealthy lifestyles, the incidence of atrial fibrillation is increasing year by year. Many people feel that atrial fibrillation has no symptoms and does not need treatment. Is this really the case?

Atrial fibrillation without symptoms also needs treatment!

Atrial fibrillation is the same as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, etc., even if there are no symptoms, its harm is also present.

What are the dangers of atrial fibrillation?

There are two main hazards of atrial fibrillation, one is that long-term rapid heart rate can cause heart enlargement and heart failure. The other is causing systemic thromboembolism, the most serious of which is stroke and dementia.

Causes stroke (stroke)

In atrial fibrillation, the blood in the atrium cannot be completely pumped into the ventricles, and the remaining blood is prone to thrombosis. Thrombosis falls off, as blood flows to various parts of the body, into the brain can cause cerebral embolism, 63% of patients with atrial fibrillation cerebral embolism occur death; entering the lower limbs will cause lower limb vascular embolism, severe amputation.

The incidence of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation is 5 to 7 times that of those without atrial fibrillation, the case fatality rate increases by 2 times, and the annual stroke rate in patients with atrial fibrillation in the 70s and 80s is as high as 20%.

Induces/exacerbates heart failure

When atrial fibrillation occurs, atrial systolic function is lost, the heart rate is too fast, and symptoms of heart failure such as fatigue and shortness of breath appear, which can lead to heart failure.

Prevention of atrial fibrillation

What do I need to pay attention to in my daily life?

Quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption. Eat lightly and don't eat too much. Try to avoid caffeinated beverages such as tea, coffee, and cola. Eat more foods rich in crude fiber, keep the stool unobstructed, and do not pull too hard when it is too dry to prevent accidents.

Stick to regular physical activity without overdoing. Proper exercise can reduce the occurrence of atrial fibrillation, but excessive exercise increases the occurrence of atrial fibrillation. Square dance, eight danjin, and running are all sports that are beneficial to the health of middle-aged and elderly people. Frequent overload, high-intensity exercise, such as marathons, may induce atrial fibrillation.

Patients with atrial fibrillation are susceptible to respiratory infections. Try to go to public places with many people and dirty air as much as possible, and pay attention to the combination of work and leisure. Exercise moderately and sleep regularly to enhance physical fitness. Keep your emotions stable and don't get too excited.

04

Check your blood pressure and blood sugar regularly. Hypertension and diabetes are common causes of atrial fibrillation and are risk factors for stroke from atrial fibrillation. Effective control of blood pressure can prevent the occurrence of atrial fibrillation.

Most importantly, when there are symptoms such as significantly accelerated heartbeat, heart beat disorder, dizziness, difficulty breathing, angina, etc., special vigilance should be taken and the hospital should be treated regularly in time.

Will atrial fibrillation recur after treatment?

Whether it is paroxysmal atrial fibrillation or persistent atrial fibrillation surgery, there is currently a certain proportion of recurrence rates. The problem of managing the recurrence of atrial fibrillation is a systematic project that involves an all-round and accurate assessment of the patient's condition, the formulation of follow-up drug treatment, psychological rehabilitation support and other systematic projects.

There was an 87-year-old gentleman. He underwent his first atrial fibrillation ablation 17 years ago (March 2005) and has been fine, with a new atrial fibrillation developing in the second half of last year, accompanied by heart failure. The old man underwent the second operation today, 17 years later, and directly switched to a normal heart rhythm during the operation, and continued to live a happy life after the operation.

Since there is a possibility of recurrence

Is surgery still necessary?

Although there is a possibility of recurrence of atrial fibrillation after surgery, 80% of patients do not have a recurrence and have achieved a good quality of life.

Therefore, the sooner the surgery is done, the better.

so

How can I prevent recurrence after atrial fibrillation?

If you have another illness after atrial fibrillation, is it recurring or recurring?

Bring your questions to the booth and ask the doctor!
