According to official data released by BYD, BYD's passenger cars sold 104338 units in March, an increase of 160.9% year-on-year. With core technologies such as blade battery, DM-i super hybrid, e-platform 3.0, and rich product camp support, BYD continues to occupy a leading position in the domestic new energy market.
At the same time as the sales volume was announced, BYD Automobile announced that it will stop the production of fuel vehicles from March 2022 in accordance with the company's strategic development needs, focusing on EV pure electric and DM plug-in hybrid vehicles.
BYD Automobile said it will continue to provide perfect service and after-sales guarantee for existing fuel vehicle customers, as well as the supply of spare parts throughout the life cycle to ensure worry-free travel.
At present, BYD adheres to the strategy of "two legs and walking together" of DM plug-in and mixing and EV pure electricity, and exerts efforts in the new energy market.
In March, BYD's DM plug-in and hybrid sales soared by 615.2% year-on-year, and EV pure electric models sold 53,664 units, up 229.2% year-on-year.
In the January global new energy model sales top 10 list released by EV SALES / EV VOLUMES, BYD firmly occupied four seats.
According to the data of the Association of Automobile Associations, in February this year, the retail penetration rate of domestic new energy vehicles reached 21.8%, an increase of 13 percentage points over February last year. In the next few years, new energy vehicles will continue to maintain rapid growth.
On March 26, Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD Co., Ltd., said at the China Electric Vehicle 100 Forum that according to the development rate in 2021, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles is expected to reach 35% in 2022.
ACCORDING TOD's annual report, the company's sales of new energy vehicles and parts in 2021 have reached 562,800 units.
