Olive oil, products containing hyaluronic acid, vitamins A and E, allantoin, centella asiatica extract, collagen-elastin hydrolysate products are all ingredients that are said to prevent swelling during pregnancy. However, studies have shown that none of these topical interventions can prevent the appearance of swelling lines.
How are swelling lines treated?
◆ Topical tretinoin can stimulate collagen synthesis, and it is necessary to adhere to daily use for several months. A common side effect of tretinoin is irritating dermatitis, which manifests as erythema and desquamation, which may lead to post-inflammatory pigmentation. In addition, since the effect of topical tretinoin on the fetus is not clear, the use of topical tretinoin should be avoided during pregnancy.
