Recently, to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the AMG division, AMG released the gt-Track Series, the strongest commercially available track sports car ever developed. The model is based on the AMG GT Black series and is built according to GT3 and GT4 racing standards, so it has no legal qualifications on the road.
Powered by a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine with a maximum power of 734 hp and a maximum torque of 850 Nm, the AMG GT Track Series matches a sequential Hewland HLS 6-speed racing gearbox with an adjustable differential, with power transmitted to the rear axle via a carbon fiber drive shaft.
The suspension of the car adopts a fully adjustable Bilstein shock absorber, and the rebound and compression of the shock absorber are multi-segment settings of high speed and low speed, and the height of the chassis can also be adjusted. In addition, the car's anti-roll bar can also be individually adjusted to adjust the roll control of the vehicle. The aerodynamic characteristics of the AMG GT Track Series are built for track use, with carbon fiber aerodynamic kits on the hood, fenders, sills, rear doors and rear skirts that greatly enhance the high-speed performance of the track, while these lightweight components reduce the vehicle's curb weight to 1400 kg.
The model is also specially equipped with a large intake hood provided by direct motorsport, which can guide air into the engine compartment for heat dissipation, greatly improving the stability of the engine at high speed, while also increasing the overall downforce. The AMG GT Track Series is equipped with high-gloss milled forged 18-inch rims specially developed for it, which are the standard size rims of GT racing cars that can be adapted to the current common race tires.
The AMG GT Track Series is the 55th anniversary of AMG's founding, so it is limited to 55 units, with a price of 369,000 euros including taxes, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2022.
