Sony could announce its competitive project for xbox game Pass as early as next week, code-named Sparacus, so interested players can take a look.
Sony currently has two subscription services: PlayStation Plus, which allows access to multiplayer games, some discounts and some free games per month, and PlayStation Now, which allows you to play selected PS4, PS3, and PS2 games via cloud gaming or downloads. Previous reports suggested spartacus could be a combination of Sony's current two subscription services, PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now, and phase out the latter's brand. But at least in the editor's opinion, these services are difficult to compare with Xbox Game Pass, after all, the latter allows you to play Xbox and PC games directly on the day they are launched.

The new service is expected to launch on PS4 and PS5 this spring and will be split into three payment tiers. The first tier will reportedly include existing PlayStation Plus benefits such as online games and free monthly games. The second will offer a large catalog of games like Xbox Game Pass, although first-party games are not expected to be included at launch. The third will add extended demos, game streaming, and a library of classic PlayStation games, possibly including classic libraries from systems like PS2 and PSP.
It's unclear how much it will cost. Currently, PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus cost $60 per year when purchasing an annual subscription, which adds up to about $120. That's about the same price as a standard Xbox Game Pass subscription and a bit lower than Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, so Sony does have some leeway when it comes to pricing. VentureBeat reporter Jeff Grubb claimed last month that the service costs $16 a month at the top. "Now they're called 'essentials,' 'extras, and 'premium,'" Grubb said on his Giant Bomb show. At the same time, he said, the premium level may include free trials of all PlayStation first-party games.
