Sony today (May 10) announced its fiscal 21-22 fiscal year financial results, in which sales and financial business revenue of 9,921,513 million yen increased by 10.3% year-on-year, and operating profit of 1,202.339 billion yen increased by 25.9% year-on-year. Significant revenue growth in the film, EP&S, and music sectors and the impact of foreign exchange rates were the main reasons for the increase in revenue.

-Sales for fiscal year were JPY 2,739.8 billion, up 3.1% year-on-year
- Operating profit of JPY 346.1 billion, up 1.2% year-on-year
- Revenue increased due to higher hardware sales and foreign exchange rate impacts, but sales of third-party games, including additional content, declined compared to the previous fiscal year.
- Losses resulting from marketing strategies priced below cost for PS5s in the previous fiscal year were reduced.

-The Company shipped 2 million units of the Q4 PS5 in fiscal 21-22 fiscal years, and currently has a total shipment of 19.3 million units.
-The Company had 47.4 million PS PLUS subscribers at the end of fiscal year (200,000 fewer than 47.6 million in the same period last fiscal year) and 160 million active PSN users.
-The Company's total PS5 and PS4 game software consumption for the fiscal year was 303.2 million copies. Q4 sold 70.5 million copies, of which 14.5 million were sales of SIE first-party games, with digital versions accounting for 71% (79% in the same period last fiscal year).
