Survey: 40% of users may buy new energy vehicles due to rising oil prices, and BYD, Tesla and "Wei Xiaoli" are more favored

Oil prices "broke 9" and the price of more than 40 new energy vehicles rose, making consumers face a dilemma. In mid-March, Tencent Motor launched a questionnaire survey on whether fuel vehicle owners will consider buying new energy vehicles due to rising oil prices, and as of March 21, the survey had recovered 1,889 questionnaires nationwide.

Survey: 40% of users may buy new energy vehicles due to rising oil prices, and BYD, Tesla and "Wei Xiaoli" are more favored

The survey results show that 72.1% of users will drive daily, of which more than 90% of users drive fuel vehicles. Among the users who drive fuel vehicles, 93.8% of them have the highest monthly cost of using a car, and among these people, more than 40% of users will consider buying new energy vehicles because of rising oil prices.

In the intention to buy brands, BYD occupies an absolute advantage, Tesla, Weilai, Xiaopeng, Ideal and other new brands rank in the second echelon, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and other traditional brand luxury brands do not have obvious advantages.

70% of users spend more than 600 yuan on fuel per month, and nearly 60% of users have electricity bills below 300 yuan

The survey shows that among the 1362 users who drive every day, 1236 users drive fuel vehicles, accounting for 90.7%; only 126 users drive new energy vehicles, accounting for 9.3%.

Whether it is a fuel vehicle user or a new energy vehicle user, in its monthly car cost, fuel or electricity is the highest proportion of the part, followed by parking fees.

Among the 1236 fuel vehicle users, 93.8% said that the fuel cost was the highest monthly expenditure, followed by the parking fee, accounting for 4.2%, and 1% of the people believed that maintenance cost the most.

Among the 126 owners of new energy vehicles, 52.4% said that electricity costs were the largest for their cars, 38.9% of them thought that parking costs the most, and only 1.6% of them thought that the most expensive maintenance and maintenance.

The average monthly cost of the owner of the fuel vehicle who drives the fuel vehicle every day

Specific to the amount of fees, 37.1% of fuel vehicle users said that their average monthly car cost was more than 1,000 yuan, 35.5% of users said that they needed to spend 600-1000 yuan per month, 23% of users said that their monthly car cost was 300-600 yuan, and the proportion of users below 300 yuan was only 4.4%.

Among the fuel vehicle users whose fuel costs account for the highest monthly car cost, the proportion of users who spend more than 1,000 yuan, 600-1000 yuan, 300-600 yuan and less than 300 yuan per month is 37.1%, 36.1%, 22.7% and 4.1% respectively, which is consistent with the overall market ratio.

The average monthly cost of car owners who drive new energy vehicles every day

In contrast, new energy vehicle users, spending 600-1000 yuan and more than 1000 yuan per month accounted for 11.9%, most of the monthly average cost of cars below 300 yuan, accounting for 59.5%, and users who spend 300-600 yuan per month accounted for 16.7%.

More than 70% of fuel vehicle users spend more than 600 yuan per month, and nearly 80% of new energy vehicle users only need to spend less than 600 yuan per month. This shows that in terms of the cost of using the car, the overall new energy vehicles are lower than the fuel vehicles.

"Saving money" is the most important, and the cost of using a car is an important factor affecting the user's purchase decision

The oil price "broke 9", making the already high cost of using the car higher and higher. Therefore, new energy vehicles have also received more attention.

According to the survey, 1159 users believe that fuel is the most important cost of using cars, of which 41% said that they are considering buying new energy vehicles because of rising oil prices. Of the 475 people, 88.6% consider buying because they "save money and have low cost of using a car", and 43.6% and 28.6% are "environmentally friendly and have positive significance for society" and "want to try new things".

Survey: 40% of users may buy new energy vehicles due to rising oil prices, and BYD, Tesla and "Wei Xiaoli" are more favored

Among the people who drive new energy vehicles every day, 73.8% of them make purchase decisions because of the low cost of using the car, and only 33% buy vehicles because of license plate restrictions and environmental reasons.

This shows that whether it is a fuel vehicle owner who is considering buying new energy vehicles or a user who has purchased a new energy vehicle, the cost of the car is an important factor that affects their purchase decision, and in most people's cognition, the low cost of new energy vehicles is a consensus.

According to Tencent Automobile's calculations, taking the most mainstream compact sedan in the market as an example, even if it is a joint venture model that can control the comprehensive fuel consumption of 100 kilometers at a lower level of 6.5L, the fuel cost when driving 50km is more than 28 yuan, and the pure electric mode can drive 50-60km plug-in hybrid sedan can not consume gasoline, which is equivalent to pure electric vehicles, even if the fuel cost under the feed state (gasoline-electricity hybrid) is only 20 yuan, which is slightly cheaper than the fuel car.

Through the above reference data, pure electric vehicles can better meet the daily commuting in the city, or travel between the suburbs. Even if the price of pure electric vehicles has risen, combined with the demand for cars, if the use of cars is more urban commuting, it is obviously more suitable for buying pure electric vehicles.

However, not everyone looks to "money". Among the users who drive fuel vehicles every day, 59% do not consider buying new energy vehicles, of which 69% think that charging is not convenient enough, 59.4% do not like/trust new energy vehicles, and only 1.9% give up new energy vehicles because of license restrictions. This shows that the convenience of infrastructure is also becoming an important factor affecting users' purchase decisions.

According to data from the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance, as of the end of September last year, the number of domestic charging infrastructure was 2.223 million units, and the vehicle-to-pile ratio was about 3.05:1, and the configuration status quo was far from meeting the charging needs of users.

BYD, Tesla and "Wei Xiaoli" are more favored, and traditional brands and luxury cars have not seen significant advantages

Among the users who submitted an effective questionnaire this time, the trend of car owners who have purchased new energy vehicles is more obvious.

Survey: 40% of users may buy new energy vehicles due to rising oil prices, and BYD, Tesla and "Wei Xiaoli" are more favored

The largest number of people who bought BYD, accounting for 30.2%, followed by Tesla, Xiaopeng, Weilai and Ideal, accounting for 16.7%, 10.3%, 7.1% and 6.3% respectively, and the owners of these brands have added up to nearly 70% of the respondents. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, the three traditional luxury brands of new energy vehicles have the lowest share in this survey, adding up to only 3.2%.

Survey: 40% of users may buy new energy vehicles due to rising oil prices, and BYD, Tesla and "Wei Xiaoli" are more favored

This ratio is also basically in line with the new energy vehicle brands that fuel vehicle owners intend to buy. Among the people who filled out the questionnaire, 63.5% of users said that they would consider BYD, followed by Tesla, accounting for 29.6%, Weilai, Xiaopeng and Ideal three brands totaled 64.9%, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi's intention group added up to about 26.6%, and Tesla's intention group was basically the same.

It is not difficult to find that in terms of brand selection, whether from users who have purchased or intend to buy new energy vehicles, they prefer BYD, Tesla, Wei Xiaoli and other brands, and are not very "cold" to traditional luxury brand new energy vehicles.

According to the data of the Association of Automobile Associations, in the wholesale sales list of new energy passenger vehicles in the first two months of this year, BYD and Tesla China ranked first and second respectively, with a share of 24.6% and 25.9% respectively, Weilai, Ideal and Xiaopeng were in the top 15 lists, and Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi were not on the list.
