Seagate today unveiled the latest addition to the SkyHawk AI video hard drive, which has a capacity of 20TB (NUMBER ST20000VE002). This is also another super-capacity hard disk of Seagate after the Galaxy X20 and the Wolf Pro 20TB.
Designed for AI-enabled network recorders (NVRs) in edge security applications, Seagate Cool Eagle AI hard drives are designed for video image analysis (VIA) applications, which can meet the heavy workload of video streaming and video data brought about by the rapid development of AI and IoT, supporting up to 64 HD video streams and 32 AI streams.
The latest Cool Eagle AI 20TB hard drive uses ImagePerfect AI firmware, which not only ensures zero video frame loss, but also achieves greater workloads, and has ultra-high reliability, with an average failure interval of 2 million hours and an annual workload of 550TB, which is more than three times that of ordinary hard disks.
It also supports SkyHawk Health Management, which protects storage systems by monitoring the environment and conditions of use and recommending precautions when necessary.
Kuying AI 20TB hard disk is also a standard 3.5-inch form specification, SATA 6Gbps interface, internal package of 10 discs, single disc capacity 2TB, CMR traditional magnetic recording, storage density of 1146Gb / square inch, cache 256MB, speed of 7200RPM, internal continuous data transmission rate of 248MB/s, maximum 260MB/s, average latency of 4.16ms.
The Seagate Cool Eagle AI 20TB hard drive has been certified and tested by VIA partners and began mass shipping this month for $529.99, or about 3,375 yuan. The Galaxy X20 and Coyote Pro 20TB are $670 and $650, respectively.
The Kuying AI series also has 18TB, 16TB, 12TB, 10TB, 8TB and other different capacities, and the Kuying series has 8TB, 6TB, 4TB, 3TB, 2TB, 1TB.
