By 2030, a relatively complete hydrogen energy industry technology innovation system, clean energy hydrogen production and supply system will be formed, which will strongly support the realization of carbon peaking goals; by 2035, a diversified application ecology of hydrogen energy will be formed, and the proportion of renewable energy hydrogen production in terminal energy consumption will be significantly improved。

Orderly promote the construction of hydrogen energy

On the same day, the National Development and Reform Commission held a special press conference on this issue. Wang Xiang, deputy director of the High Technology Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that all regions should reasonably grasp the progress of industrial development, and it is strictly forbidden to blindly follow the trend and rush forward regardless of local realities. At the same time, it is strictly forbidden to "race the land" in the name of building hydrogen energy projects.

In this regard, Wang Xiang said that the "Plan" put forward four key tasks, including: building a hydrogen energy industry innovation system; promoting the construction of hydrogen energy infrastructure; steadily promoting the demonstration and application of hydrogen energy; and improving the policy and institutional guarantee system.

In terms of the diversified application of hydrogen energy, Liu Yafang, deputy director of the Department of Science and Technology of the National Energy Administration, said that the "Planning" deploys four key demonstration tasks: one is to promote the demonstration application in the field of transportation in an orderly manner, the second is to actively carry out the demonstration application in the field of energy storage, the third is to rationally lay out diversified applications in the field of power generation, and the fourth is to gradually explore alternative applications in the industrial field.

For the four key demonstration tasks, Liu Yafang said that the focus will be on promoting the application of medium and heavy vehicles in hydrogen fuel cells, and orderly expand the market application space of new energy passenger and cargo vehicles such as hydrogen fuel cell buses/trucks.
