Since 1986, Sanxingdui has attracted the attention of the national academic community, and related research results have also been released. However, over the past 30 years, the academic problems that Sanxingdui needs to solve have not decreased but increased, involving a wider range of disciplines and fields, and there is a big gap from the overall requirements of "inheriting Chinese culture and making cultural relics come alive", so it is very important to build a higher-level, more comprehensive and more inclusive research platform.

In the view of the academic community, the two major archaeological discoveries of Sanxingdui in 1986 and 2020, the bronze ware group excavated are vivid examples of the openness and creativity of the ancient Shu civilization, and also an important material basis for the overall study of China's Bronze Age culture and society. The difference and connection between bronze and bronze culture. Duan Yu introduced that Sanxingdui has created a highly developed bronze culture. At present, the research of archaeologists mainly focuses on the study of bronze artifacts, usually from the perspective of the artifacts themselves, analyzing their alloy composition, smelting technology, copper sources, and exploring the characteristics and evolution of their shapes, patterns and patterns. The research of the Future Center will use multidisciplinary research methods such as history, anthropology, sociology, political science, and economics to carry out comprehensive research from different levels such as politics, economy, society, and culture, so as to clarify the relationship between bronze research and bronze culture research, and then build a theoretical system for Sanxingdui bronze culture research.

Ancient Shu interacts with the surrounding areas. This project will conduct a comparative study of the ancient Shu culture and the bronze culture excavated in the Yangtze River Basin, the Central Plains, and the Northwest. At the same time, a comparative study of the political, economic and cultural interaction between ancient Shu and Qin, Chu and other countries and Southwest Yi in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period was carried out to prove the openness and inclusiveness of ancient Shu civilization and the characteristics of Chinese civilization pluralism and integration.
Ancient Shu culture and Sino-foreign relations. The large number of bronzes excavated from Sanxingdui is the earliest known large group of ancient Shu bronzes and has reached a highly mature stage of development. This topic explores the ancient Shu culture in the context of world civilization, studies its origin, development and cultural uniqueness, and analyzes its connection with India, Central Asia, and West Asia, as well as the ways in which it has influenced. How to ensure operation?

Academic research is not an overnight achievement, how to ensure the results of sanxingdui culture and bronze civilization research? The reporter learned that the center has 3 research rooms, namely: bronze research room, Sanxingdui culture research room, regional civilization comparison and exchange and mutual learning research room. The Future Center will build a high-level research team. On the basis of the existing 5 full-time researchers in the center, 2-3 doctoral researchers in archaeology, pre-Qin history and anthropology are introduced every year, and an academic research team of 10-15 people is formed within 3 years. At the same time, a group of veteran experts and well-known experts inside and outside the hospital are appointed as special researchers of the center. In addition, academic committees will be established. It is planned to hire 9 to 11 well-known scholars at home and abroad to form the academic committee of the center, responsible for planning and guiding the academic research of the center, and providing advice on the development plan and academic direction of the center.
The center will also build an academic platform for a center, a society, a forum, and a magazine. The "Sichuan Sanxingdui Culture and Bronze Civilization Research Association" was established, which was managed by the center. Every year, a series of large-scale academic seminars of the "Chinese Culture Forum" are held regularly, and at the same time, the quality of the "Chinese Culture Forum" is improved, which serves as an important carrier for the external dissemination of the center. In June this year, the "Chinese Culture Forum • Sanxingdui Culture and Bronze Civilization Academic Seminar" will be held in Deyang.
It is worth mentioning that the Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences will implement a flexible assessment mechanism for the scientific researchers of the center, follow the scientific research rules of unpopular disciplines, implement periodic assessment, and create a relaxed research atmosphere and environment suitable for generating landmark academic achievements.
