Yangtze River Daily Wuhan client, March 20 (reporter Wan Jianhui) Since 1986, Sanxingdui "woke up to shock the world", related research results have been released. However, for more than 30 years, sanxingdui has not decreased or increased the number of academic problems that need to be solved, involving a wider range of disciplines and fields. On March 19, the Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences inaugurated the "Sanxingdui Culture and Bronze Civilization Research Center", announcing that it will carry out academic key research from 8 aspects.

The ancient Shu culture was discussed in the context of world civilization

The Yangtze River Daily reporter learned that there are three research rooms under the Sanxingdui Culture and Bronze Civilization Research Center, namely the Bronze Research Room, the Sanxingdui Culture Research Room, and the Regional Civilization Comparison and Exchange and Mutual Learning Research Room. In the future, the center will build a high-level research team, on the basis of the existing 5 full-time researchers, each year to introduce archaeology, pre-Qin history, anthropology 2 to 3 doctoral researchers each year, within 3 years to form 10 to 15 people of academic research team.

Duan Yu, director of the Sanxingdui Culture and Bronze Civilization Research Center, introduced that Sanxingdui has created a highly developed bronze culture. At present, the research of archaeologists mainly focuses on the study of bronze artifacts, usually from the perspective of the artifacts themselves, analyzing their alloy composition, smelting technology, copper sources, and exploring their shape, pattern characteristics and evolution laws.

The newly established Sanxingdui Culture and Bronze Civilization Research Center will focus on the differences and connections between bronze and bronze culture, the classification of Sanxingdui bronzes, the research on the connotation of Sanxingdui bronze culture, the research on sanxingdui cultural religious beliefs, the research on the symbol system of Sanxingdui bronze culture, the research on the expression of sanxingdui bronze culture and art, the exchange and interaction between ancient Shu and surrounding areas, and the ancient Shu culture and Sino-foreign relations.

The research of the center will use multidisciplinary research methods such as history, anthropology, sociology, political science, and economics to carry out comprehensive research from different levels such as politics, economy, society, and culture, so as to clarify the relationship between bronze research and bronze culture research, and then build a theoretical system for Sanxingdui bronze culture research.

Duan Yu said that the large number of bronzes unearthed by Sanxingdui is the earliest known large-scale bronze group of ancient Shu and has reached a highly mature stage of development. The center studies the theme of ancient Shu culture and Sino-foreign relations, which is to discuss the ancient Shu culture in the context of world civilization, study its origin, development and cultural uniqueness, and analyze its relationship with India, Central Asia and West Asia and the ways to influence it. Ancient Shu culture not only absorbs and borrows various factors of foreign civilizations, but also exports silk, tea, brocade and other unique products of Shu land, the center will try to reveal the occurrence mechanism of this two-way interaction, and explore the status of ancient Shu culture in the cultural exchange between East and West.

Experts recommend strengthening the study of Sanxingdui carved symbols

The reporter learned that on the day of the unveiling of the Sanxingdui Culture and Bronze Civilization Research Center, dozens of industry experts and scholars spoke at the "Sanxingdui Culture and Bronze Civilization Research Academic Symposium" to provide suggestions and suggestions for the newly established research center.

Some scholars believe that writing, cities, and metal tools are the three major material cultural elements formed by civilized society, and these elements are clearly reflected in the Sanxingdui culture. Some scholars have proposed that the Sanxingdui carved symbols provide first-hand information for the study of the origin of the Bashu script, and the number of carved characters found at the Sanxingdui site is small, and if more first-hand information is found in the future, it will have a value that cannot be ignored.

Some scholars have put forward the proposal of "strengthening the academic history of Sanxingdui". As soon as the Sanxingdui site was unveiled, it attracted widespread attention, and the academic community has formed multi-level academic research results on the cultural connotation and religious significance of cultural relics, the source of Sanxingdui culture, and the relationship between Sanxingdui culture and Central Plains culture. From the origin, formation, development and evolution of Sanxingdui civilization, to the cultural structure, social model, and then to the position of Sanxingdui culture in the cultural genealogy at home and abroad, it shows the different development stages of Sanxingdui's research direction. In order to promote the further development of the research cause, it is necessary to sort out the literature related to it and summarize the advanced and limited nature of the original research, which needs to be continuously worked on.

Duan Yu, director of the Sanxingdui Culture and Bronze Civilization Research Center, said: "Research without academic history is water without a source and wood without a root, but for some research results, we must fully understand their limitations, so that we can learn from our strengths and avoid our weaknesses and improve our research level." ”

Some scholars have also put forward their views from the perspective of international communication, and those who do sanxingdui international communication may not understand the academic frontier; and those who do sanxingdui academic research may not be familiar with the communication discourse system. Theoretically, the openness and inclusiveness of Sanxingdui is not only confirmed in the interaction between Sanxingdui culture and surrounding cultures, but also reflected in the world cultural genealogy. Through a comparative study of Sanxingdui and ancient Indian and Central and Western Asian cultures, it is found that the Sanxingdui civilization had some form of interaction with many ancient Asian countries. If you want to make a breakthrough in theory, you need to stand on the perspective of global civilization mutual learning, and Sanxingdui culture will also have a deeper connotation. Therefore, in cross-cultural and cross-context international communication, Sanxingdui cultural research scholars, museum research centers, and cultural and creative development practitioners should complement each other's resources and build a diversified communication system in combination with the urban cultural stage.

The Panlong City Ruins Museum also has academic cooperation with Wuhan University

Regarding the inauguration of the "Sanxingdui Culture and Bronze Civilization Research Center" by the Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences, on the afternoon of March 20, Wan Lin, president of the Panlong City Ruins Museum, told the Yangtze River Daily reporter that the Panlong City Ruins Museum also had academic research cooperation with Wuhan University and the Hubei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology.

Wan Lin said that the Panlong City ruins are related to the study of Yangtze River civilization, and Wuhan University has established the Yangtze River Civilization Archaeological Research Institute with concentrated historical, cultural and archaeological resources, and cooperated with the Panlong City Ruins Museum earlier. Cooperation in this regard includes the annual dispatch of a team of teachers and students majoring in archaeology to participate in the archaeological excavation of the Panlong City site, as well as academic research on the origin, positioning and relationship with the Yangtze River civilization of the Panlong City site, which has produced many theoretical achievements.

In addition, the Panlong City Ruins Museum and the Hubei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology (renamed from the Hubei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology at the end of 2021) have also maintained a long-term cooperative relationship, and even for a long time after the discovery of the Panlong City site, the archaeological and academic research work of the Panlong City site was carried out under the participation and guidance of the Hubei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology.

At present, the archaeological and academic research of the Panlong City site has entered a more in-depth stage, and archaeological topics such as environmental archaeology, underwater and water level archaeology, plant archaeology (food source for Panlong City merchants), and the time limit of Panlong City have been included in the scope of cooperation with the Yangtze River Civilization Archaeology Research Institute of Wuhan University and the Hubei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology.

Wan Lin said that she felt the ancient Shu cultural atmosphere of the whole city in Chengdu, and archaeological cultural symbols such as Sanxingdui sacred birds could be seen on the signs of subway stations, Tianfu Square, street lamps, and even on the manhole covers of sewers. Chengdu is about to hold the World University Games, and chengdu's museum will also hold corresponding exhibitions. It is believed that Wuhan, where the Panlong City ruins are located, will pay more and more attention to the local archaeological and cultural resources, and cultural symbols such as the Panlong City ruins and the Yangtze River civilization can also form part of the entire urban culture, so that people who come to Wuhan can inadvertently feel it.
