Ancient Shu civilization refers to the ancient civilization that originated from the ancient period to the early Spring and Autumn Period in the present-day Sichuan region of the mainland (including Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality) that is different from the Central Plains civilization but is inextricably linked to the Central Plains civilization. At present, the remaining sites mainly include Chengdu Jinsha site, Guanghan Sanxingdui site and so on. Together with the Chinese civilization and the Liangzhu civilization, it is called the three major civilizations of ancient China. In 1929, when a batch of jade tools flowed out of the Guanghan Dynasty in Sichuan, people began to tirelessly explore the ancient civilization of Sichuan. After several generations of unremitting efforts by archaeologists, many important sites have been discovered, a large number of precious cultural relics have been unearthed, and the history of the ancient Shu kingdom that the poet Li Bai lamented is gradually becoming clear.

At present, archaeologists have basically clarified the evolution of ancient Shu civilization, that is, the Baodun culture represented by the prehistoric city site group of the Chengdu Plain, to the Sanxingdui culture represented by the Sanxingdui site, to the Jinsha Twelve Bridges culture represented by the Chengdu Jinsha site, and finally to the Warring States bronze culture represented by the Chengdu commercial street ship coffin and the single wooden coffin tomb, until 316 BC Qin and Bashu, the brilliant ancient Shu civilization has become an important part of Chinese civilization. Ruins of Baodun Ancient City

The Baodun Cultural Site (4800-4000 years ago) is a Neolithic cultural site distributed in the Chengdu Plain and is closely related to the Sanxingdui culture. Baodun Culture is currently considered by the Chinese archaeological community to be the earliest archaeological culture discovered in the Chengdu Plain so far, and is an important Neolithic archaeological culture in the Chengdu Plain. Baodun culture belongs to the Neolithic era, and one mainstream view is that Baodun culture may have developed from the Yingpanshan culture. Compared with other cultures of the same period, the Baodun culture innovated in pottery making techniques and may have also accepted influences from other archaeological cultures. The Baodun culture dates back about 4500 years, and its shape is a typical representative of the earliest ancient city site in the Chengdu Plain era in this period.

The discovery of the Baodun site has filled the gap in the development of the Chengdu Plain. After the discovery of the Sanxingdui site, many people will ask, why did such a brilliant bronze culture appear in the Chengdu Plain, which is isolated and poorly documented? The answer lies in the Baodun culture, a group of prehistoric city sites in the Chengdu Plain composed of eight sites, that there was another cultural stage before the Sanxingdui culture, which gave birth to the bronze civilization of the Chengdu Plain. If you want to find the source of the ancient Shu civilization, you are also in the Baodun culture.
