Cao Hongxun (1846-1910), zi Zhongming, a native of Weifang, Shandong. In the second year of Guangxu (1876), he successively served as the governor of Xiuzhi, the viceroy of Hunan Xuezheng, the prefect of Yongchang in Yunnan, the governor of Yunnan Province, the governor of Yunnan Province, the eastern province, and the official to shaanxi, and was an official clean and honest. During his tenure, he opened the Yanchang Oil Plant and drilled the first oil well on China's land, which is known as the "old well" in history.
Cao Hongxun is good at calligraphy, painting bamboo orchids, calligraphy and European style, lao Yi Hun Pu, and Gong Han Li. His calligraphy is swift and fast with his pen, dashing and refreshing, and his body is beautiful and staggered. Beijing's Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Weifang have left many ink stone carvings.
In his ordinary life, Cao Hongxun did not live in the name of teaching, but moved and stopped constantly, tied up solemnly, spoke in a few words, acted in a gentle and sensitive manner, and did not lose two baht in every ancient and modern taste.
Cao Hongxun likes to write big characters, gods in the law, traces back to the Han and Wei dynasties, partial imitation of the Tang and Song dynasties to return to everyone, and Yuan Ming Zhao Dong, etc., in his later years, the inscription of the golden stone works, more and more refined, every drunken wave, smoke and fog knots, posture bear horizontal, real Qing Dao Xian since a big family.
Cao Hongxun walks the grass like a heavenly ji and travels thousands of miles a day, super dangerous, with a pen is even more flying, and from time to time out of the pen, with a majestic and crazy rhyme, reflecting the typical style of his calligraphy. Cao Xi paints bamboo orchid stones, and his paintings of bamboo are more than vigorous and heroic, humble and upward, stubborn and untamed, which is an expression of a variety of sentiments. His books and paintings are in the same precious and wonderful situation. His inkblots are found in the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Donghua Gate, the Xihua Gate, and the Dashilar Fence.
