Cao Hongxun (1846-1910), zi Zhongming, a native of Weifang, Shandong. In the second year of Guangxu (1876), he was appointed as the Governor of Shaanxi. Cao Hongxun is good at painting bamboo orchids in calligraphy, learning European characters, old Yi Hun Pu, and Gong Han Li. His calligraphy is swift and fast with his pen, dashing and refreshing, and his body is beautiful and staggered. Beijing's Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Weifang have left many ink stone carvings.
