The Panama Maritime Authority (Panama Maritime Authority) issued a statement on the 16th that since Russia sent troops to Ukraine, 3 ships flying the Panamanian flag have been hit by Russian missiles in the Black Sea.
The statement noted that one of them was sunk but was notified of casualties, while the remaining two were damaged and floated, but did not mention the date when the vessels were shelled.
Panama's maritime director, Arauz, said three ships, including the Japanese cargo ship Namura Queen, were attacked by Russian missiles, and the crew were all safe, but the vessel was damaged.
Alauz also said at least 10 vessels flying other flags still sail on the Black Sea, but the Russian Navy restricted those vessels from leaving the waters in question.
Panama has the world's largest register of flagged vessels, with a total of more than 8,000 vessels, according to the PanamaNian Maritime Authority.
Russian President Vladimir Putin marched into Ukraine on Feb. 24; Ukraine's Ministry of Infrastructure noted that Russia fired the next day on two foreign ships near the Black Sea port of Pivdennyi, the Panamanian-flagged Queen Namura and the Moldova-flagged chemical cargo ship Millennial Spirit.
