Both countries have problems of ethnic contradictions and separation: Ukraine has the problem of Ukraine, while Moldova has the problem of Germany, and the problem areas of both countries have become more tense after the pro-American and European leaders came to power.

In Russia's view, Moldova is relatively less strategically important to Russia than Ukraine, and does not have fanatical nationalist ambitions, and its engagement with Moldova is dominated by the search for closer economic and political "soft power", while Russia's "hard power" plays a secondary role - Russian troops have long been stationed in the Dezuo region.
But this relatively stable situation began to change after the pro-American and European female politicians with more American backgrounds than the Ukrainian comedian came to power.
