According to the Global Times, at around 0:15 on April 3, "Yuenan Ao Yu 36062" collided with the Panamanian-flagged container ship SITC DANANG ("Haifeng Da Nang"), causing the fishing boat to sink and eight people on the fishing boat fell into the water and lost contact. As of 17:30, a total of 21 ships and 5 aircraft were conducting surface and air searches at the scene. In addition, it also coordinates passing ships to strengthen lookout, participate in search and rescue, and rescue people in time if they are found to be overboard.
According to the photos, it is suspected that a number of fishing boats participated in the search and rescue work, or took the initiative to join for passing by. A damaged life raft was also found at the scene.
