From April 2, the second season of the "Brilliant Galaxy" Series of Russian Oil Paintings at the Beijing Exhibition Center officially returned. This season, the new "Five Faces of Modernity - An Exhibition of Modern Russian Paintings in the 20th Century" is officially open to the public. In the main building of the beijing exhibition hall with unique exotic style, more than 100 original Russian oil paintings play a surging movement of culture and art here.
The theme of the exhibition is taken from the classic book "Five Faces of Modernity" by the famous American cultural scholar Matte Carlinescu on the theme of cultural modernity.
The author summarizes the cultural history and artistic characteristics of the West from the 19th to the 20th century into five forms of cultural expression: "modernism, avant-garde, decadence, kitsch art, and postmodernism". Under this name, the exhibition exhibits more than 100 works by more than 20 artists who are very representative of the Russian 20th century, the age of the artists covers the 1940s to the 1970s, as witnesses of the 20th century, their works present a vivid art "presence" and "generativeness", which constitute a cross-section of the study of Russian painting in the 20th century, and thus present a more realistic academic research value, allowing us to feel the modern aesthetic form of Russia at close range.
