It was rare to have a refreshing day in the hot summer, when the sun shyly hid behind the clouds and secretly watched us. In order to deeply experience the hard work of young volunteers and teachers to the children's selfless dedication, to deeply understand the thirsty hearts of migrant workers and the longing of some children for the companionship of their parents, families and friends, on July 15, 2021, the School of Economics of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics "Live up to Shaohua, strengthen the country has me" Volunteer Service Practice Team came to No. 118 Happy Ark, Fuhai Township, Fuhai Township, Kunming City, Yunnan Province to launch the "Three To the Countryside" volunteer activity.
On July 15th, the first day of volunteering for our volunteer team, we stepped on the bus with excitement, excitement and curiosity, and everyone on the bus was full of smiles and looked forward to having fun with the children after arriving. Thinking of their sweet smiles, my heart warms up. The breeze blows softly through the wall paintings of the "Happy Ark", gently bringing the laughter and fighting sounds of the children. The "Happy Ark" has two floors, the second floor is the children's activity room and lounge, and the first floor has a room for children to do their homework quietly. I walked up to the second floor with some restraint, watched the children laughing and playing unscrupulously, and unconsciously put on a smile.

Although the children's smiles are sweet and wonderful, it is not easy to carry out the activities. At first, I went to help the children with their homework, and everyone sat quietly in their chairs, only to hear the sound of "blah blah" writing.
Through the communication and getting along with a little brother, I learned that he also has two older sisters, their mother took them to work in Kunming, and their father was a long-time migrant worker, the three sisters and brothers are more introverted, seeing me are just squinting and smiling, unlike other children who are very active in hugging you and playing with you.
The eldest sister is also a very assertive little girl, she was the first child to ask me questions, but what I did not expect was that she was actually asking the subject I was least good at - English! The psychological construction I had done at the beginning collapsed completely, and looking at those words, I suddenly froze, and my head went blank. Ah, in the face of the strange her, how should I teach her? What am I going to say, how can I guide her to understand? Am I right? After a little stunned, I said the meaning of the title in a vacuum, and carefully asked her if she knew the word. In this way, it was difficult to solve this problem.
Unexpectedly, she looked at me so unconfident and immediately decided to do the homework first, I was a little embarrassed and a little relieved. It seems that even the knowledge that has been learned needs to be warm and knowledgeable, continuously learned, and applied to what it has learned in order to better learn and apply it. I didn't expect a small counseling to be able to find many problems in my own.

In the movie watching activities, at the beginning, everyone was active and serious about watching the movie, but when the movie was halfway through, the children began to sit still. Suddenly, lying down, hugging, everyone began to lose interest in the movie. Even though the teacher and we kept reminding us, they still had no interest in the movie and started making a little fuss. Watching them lie on the ground and watching them start looking around for a partner to play with, we were overwhelmed. I sat helplessly on the side, looking at them helplessly, reminding me to sit down again and again, lying down and playing again and again, which made my mind quickly flash to my brother who was only five years old, what would happen if my brother was here? Will he also be so noisy and not quiet to watch movies? If he did, what would I do?
But in the end, I found that the main problems of this activity are three: first, the children themselves are difficult to concentrate for a long time, not to mention a group of children of similar age, who will naturally quarrel together; second, our film time is still a little long, and it is not very attractive to the children's attention; third, when we organize, we do not emphasize good discipline and help maintain good order. It is also through this movie-watching activity that I deeply experienced the difficulties and hardships of the teachers managing this large number of children, the children are very uncontrollable, to make them obey the arrangement, but also need to use their own brains, to the children's attention is always on you, and must be patient!
But in fact, when answering questions, everyone is very positive and very proactive. Their little hands held high, their expectant eyes, all seemed to say that I knew I had something to say... When playing games, the children are also more excited than one, one more excited than the other. Their little hands, holding us tightly, hugged us cheerfully and gently caressed us.

Most of the children of "Happy Ark" are the children of migrant workers, and their parents may not be able to accompany them often, but there are teachers, students, and volunteers of "Happy Ark" to bring them constant warmth and love. And we also hope that in this practical activity, we can bring them more love, warmth, companionship and love, and also hope that they can move towards a better future with a bright smile, unquenchable enthusiasm and consistent gratitude.
