iPhone14 Pro is equipped with Apple A16 chip, 6GB LPDDR5 memory, display for 6.1 inches, support adaptive refresh rate technology; iPhone14 Pro Max is also equipped with Apple A16 chip, the same 6GB LPDDR5 memory, the screen is 6.7 inches, support adaptive refresh rate technology.
Judging from the exposed news, the iPhone 14 series has added the Max version, which is the "big screen" version of the iPhone 14, the two machines are exactly the same in terms of performance, screen refresh rate, camera, but the screen size of the machine is larger, which means that Apple cancels the small-screen iPhone and directly upgrades to the large-screen iPhone.
For the mini series sales difference and therefore abandoned, Koyaku does not agree, because the mini series of sales are more than 10 million units every year, which is a hot product; as for the reason for being abandoned, Koya believes that it is still a profit problem - the cost of the mini version is not low, but the price is relatively low, which cannot bring Apple a satisfactory profit.
Under normal circumstances, if the main configuration of the two machines is the same, then the smaller the size of the machine cost will be higher, after all, the integration of the case of increased, the requirements for components are also higher; but the positioning of the mini is much lower than the standard version, Apple is "less money" on the mini, so the probability of abandoning the mini is still because it is not enough to make money.
As for the iPhone14 series of some machines using the previous generation of chips, Koyake believes that the possibility is higher, because the current TSMC 4nm process system is not enough capacity, there is no way to provide Apple with enough A16 chips; in this case, Apple naturally chooses a 5nm chip with sufficient capacity, so Apple A15 is a good choice.
In this case, the product strategy of the iPhone14 series will change dramatically, in addition to cutting off the mini version, the use of the chip is completely different from the previous machine; but it should be noted that the iPhone 13 series of chips has two versions, one is the iPhone13, iPhone 13 mini on the blood version, one is the iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro on the full blood version.
