Meta recently announced two updates to its VR fitness tool, Oculus Move, which will be officially launched next month, including a partnership with Apple.

It is reported that Oculus Move is a system-level fitness exercise tracking dashboard that is suitable for all games and applications. It helps Quest 1 and Quest 2 users track their workouts across all VR apps, and users are free to set daily goals to see how many calories they're burning and how long they're physically active.

It is understood that one of the updates is the Oculus Move iOS and Android mobile apps. Users can see synced workout data on their phones, such as calories burned and time spent exercising in VR. Previously, this data could only be accessed in the Oculus Move app on the headset. The other is that the Oculus Move App officially supports the Apple Health App. Apple device users can sync Oculus Move data directly into the Apple Health App without having to manually enter VR data.

It is worth mentioning that the data synchronization with the Oculus app and the Apple health app is completely controlled by the user and belongs to the opt in option. The team said your Move stats will be encrypted on Meta servers and promise not to use your Oculus Move stats to support ads on the Meta platform.

In addition, Meta does not specifically mention plans to sync data with Google Fit or Samsung Health, but Meta said it will continue to "explore future integrations with other fitness tracking platforms."
