Meta redirects Oculus.com to the Meta Store network

Meta recently redirected long-running Oculus.com to its new Meta Store website store.facebook.com/quest,Meta decision to change the Oculus URL came on the same day as it announced the opening of an offline physical store. Interestingly, Instead of immediately adopting a Meta.com domain name that it owns, Meta opted for facebook.com.

Facebook announced as early as the end of 2021 that it would rename its brand Meta and gradually abandon the Oculus brand. But for Meta executives, de-Oculus is very reasonable. The company has staked its future on the metacosm and wants to encompass both hardware and software in a unified way. Now their Oculus Quest, Facebook Horizon and Facebook Portal have all become Meta Quest, Meta Horizon and Meta Portal.
