IT House news on January 27, late last year, Facebook announced that it changed its name to Meta. Meta's virtual reality division has now been renamed from Oculus to Meta Quest.
At present, Oculus has changed its name to Meta Quest and said that "what has changed is the name, and what has not changed is the mission."
IT House understands that this name change means that all of the company's future VR/AR products will be launched under new brands. For example, Oculus Quest 2 will later become Meta Quest 2.
Just a few days ago, it was reported that Meta had abandoned its own OPERATING system for VR/AR devices. However, Meta officially denied this claim and said it would expand the scale further.
The Oculus Quest VR headset app "slaughtered the list" during the 2021 U.S. Christmas season, topped the free download list of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in the United States, beating social software such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
