On April 26, OFILM announced that it has decided to establish an IoT ecological division covering smart door locks, network cameras (IPCs), robots and other related products; and a meta-universe division responsible for optical lenses, image modules, optical machine modules and machine assembly and manufacturing in the vr/AR field.

OFILM said that in terms of optical lenses, it can provide VR aspherical lenses, VR/AR lens groups, VR eyepieces and other products, image modules, OFILM relies on mobile phone image modules and 3D perception module technology research and development, expanding FPV camera modules, SLAM dual camera modules, VR eye tracking modules and VR positioning camera modules.
In terms of VR/AR optical machine, OFILM has laid out technical routes such as LCOS optical waveguide module, Bird Bath double-sight machine module, LED optical waveguide module and Pancake optical machine solution. At the same time, the whole machine assembly and manufacturing service of VR/AR glasses and head-mounted equipment will also be laid out.
According to IDC data and forecasts, the global VR/AR terminal shipments will be about 6 million units in 2020, reaching 11.2 million units in 2021, an increase of nearly 90% year-on-year, and it is expected that the global shipment volume will exceed 50 million units in 2026, with a compound annual growth rate of 35.1%, and the global VR/AR market size will also grow from about 90 billion yuan in 2020 to nearly 500 billion yuan in 2026.
In January this year, OFILM disclosed a performance forecast showing that it is expected to achieve a net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies in 2021 of 1.9 billion yuan to 2.7 billion yuan, and a net profit of 1.920 billion yuan to 2.670 billion yuan after deducting non-profits. In March 2021, Apple kicked the domestic lens partner OFILM out of the supply chain, which also led to a sharp decline in OFILM's market value, with a loss of more than 30 billion yuan.
Subsequently, OFILM sold 100% of the equity of its subsidiary Guangzhou Delta Imaging Technology Co., Ltd. and related equipment owned by Jiangxi Jingrun Optics Co., Ltd. to Wingtech Technology.
According to the official website, OFILM was officially operated in 2002 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2010, with its main business of smart phones, smart cars and new fields, and its main business products include optical imaging modules, optical lenses, microelectronics and smart car related products.
OFILM said that in recent years, smart office and smart travel have driven the development of the optical industry. The integration of the IoT Ecology Division and the Meta-Universe Division marks that the company will enter a new phase.
OFILM made a decision to set up two new departments
According to reports, the IoT Ecological Division will focus on the three directions of smart door locks, webcams and robots. At present, OFILM has successfully developed a multi-chip three-in-one solution, this year, OFILM will launch a five-in-one solution: by the door lock + fingerprint algorithm + voice + RFID + induction contact + fingerprint sensing module + wireless connection and other latest solutions.
OFILM said that OFILM's network camera products have laid out the smart home market, including the company's IP camera, PTZ camera and home camera, etc., mainly facing home users and telecom and TV operators.
OFILM will also further develop intelligent robots, such as sweeping robots, bionic robots and service robots.
Another new department is the Meta-Go Division, OFILM introduced that the Meta-Universe will be an important direction for the company's future, at present, OFILM has developed optical lenses, image modules, optical machine modules and whole unit symptoms in the field of VR and AR. The product will be available to customers worldwide.
Founded in 2002, OFILM is a leading enterprise of optical components in the mainland, after terminating the procurement contract with Apple, in 2021 disclosed a loss of 2.7 billion yuan for the whole year, paid a huge tuition fee, and even was named by CCTV, this time it was OFILM who completely woke up after paying a huge tuition fee, and announced its major measures to the outside world to get rid of Apple's dependence for the second time.
Look to new markets to get rid of dependence on Apple
In February this year, INILM issued a positive signal to the outside world in its reply to the letter of concern from the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, clarifying the company's future five-year plan and the company's layout in the field of intelligent vehicles.
ATILM is already a Tier1 supplier to domestic automakers, and has passed the demonstration and has more than 20 potential customers of well-known car companies at home and abroad. In 2018, OFILM acquired Foxconn's Tianjin Lens Factory, and laid out the camera field of on-board optical lenses for smart cars early.
It can be seen that since offline was proposed by Apple in the industrial chain, OFILM has actively carried out self-help, using the company's original technology and resources to quickly open up a new situation. Look to new markets to get rid of Apple dependence!
