Previous tests said studio Display comes pre-installed with iOS 15.4.
Apple promised in March to provide a firmware fix for Studio Display to fix the webcam issue, and an Apple spokesperson said that the firmware beta released today did fix the webcam issue.
Studio Display comes with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera that supports centered portraits, but Studio Display users found that the camera consistently produces grainy, faded images, which Apple says is not working as expected. This firmware brings updated "Camera Adjustments, Improved Noise Reduction, Contrast and Framing".
All Studio Display models are capable of receiving over-the-air firmware updates, but this firmware update is limited to Macs currently running macOS Monterey 12.4 Beta. After installing macOS 12.4 Beta, Studio Display users can go to System Preferences > Software Update to install firmware.
