Digital Legacy is online! Apple released the official version of macOS 12.1

Apple officially released macOS Monterey 12.1 and watchOS 8.3. This update is available for all compatible Mac and Apple Watch models. Like the just-released iOS 15.2, the new macOS Monterey 12.1 brings a number of corresponding new features, such as SharePlay, Apple Music Voice, new parent message privacy and security features, improved photos, and more.

In addition to macOS Monterey 12.1, Apple also believes that watchOS 8.3 will be available for all compatible Apple Watch models. The new addition will allow users to control their Apple Watch using their gestures. This new feature will also make it into older Apple Watch models.

MacOS Monterey 12.1 update details are as follows:

Simultaneous sharing is a new way to share a sync experience, sharing content from the Apple Video app, Apple Music, and other supported apps on a FaceTime call

Sharing controls let everyone pause, play, rewind, or fast-forward

Smart Volume automatically lowers the audio volume of a movie, TV show, or song when you or a friend is talking

Screen sharing allows everyone on a FaceTime call to view photos, browse the web, or provide mutual assistance

The Apple Music Voice Control solution is a new level of subscription service that lets you use Siri to access all songs, playlists, and stations in Apple Music

Siri simply suggests music based on your listening history and preferences

Play Again gives you access to a list of recently played music

Memories has been redesigned with a new interactive interface, new animation and transition styles, and multi-image collages

The new "Memories" category includes more international holidays, children's-themed memories, trends over time, and optimized pet memories

Digital Legacy lets you designate someone as an inheritance contact, giving them access to your iCloud account and personal information after your death

iCloud+ subscribers can use Hide Email Address in the Mail app to create unique and random email addresses

Stocks lets you see the currencies used in your stocks and see year-to-date performance when you look at charts

Reminders and Notes now let you delete or rename labels

After you select a photo from your photo library, desktop and screen saver may appear blank
