On the morning of March 10, Tesla China's official website today raised the price of some domestic models, involving 2 Model Y models and 1 Model 3 model.
Specifically, the price of the Model 3 high-performance version increased by 10,000 yuan, from the original 339,900 yuan to the current 349,900 yuan; the model Y long-endurance version and the high-performance version increased by 10,000 yuan, and the price increased from the original 347,900 yuan and 387,900 yuan to 357,900 yuan to 387,900 yuan, respectively.
Since localization, none of the above three models have seen price reductions. Among them, the model 3 high-performance version has increased its price for the first time, with a historical minimum price of 337,900 yuan; the Model Y long-endurance version has increased its price twice, with a historical minimum price of 337,900 yuan; the Model Y high-performance version has increased its price three times, with a historical minimum price of 369,900 yuan.
The price of the remaining domestic Tesla models has not changed, the starting price of the Model 3 model is 265,652 yuan after subsidies, and the starting price of the Model Y model is 301,840 yuan.
Since the fourth quarter of last year, domestic Tesla models have been subject to subsidies and raw materials have risen several times. The recent price increase again, there is speculation that the current Tesla domestic order volume surge, has to be controlled through the "price increase" means.
At present, the expected delivery time of many domestic Tesla models has increased, and some models have waited for more than 4 months. Among them, the model 3 series is expected to deliver 16-20 weeks, that is, 4-4.5 months; the model Y rear-wheel drive version is expected to be delivered in 10-14 weeks, the long-endurance version is expected to be delivered in 16-20 weeks, and the high-performance version is expected to be delivered in 12-16 weeks.
The appropriate price increase can improve the company's profits while keeping the order within a controllable range as much as possible.
The reason for the increase in domestic delivery time is that the Shanghai Gigafactory has borne greater export pressure. Although the German Tesla Gigafactory is about to be officially delivered, the initial production capacity is still limited, requiring a large number of exports from the Shanghai Gigafactory.
Starting in April this year, the Shanghai Gigafactory will restart a large wave of new car exports, and the company plans to focus on exports in the first half of each quarter and mainly deliver to the domestic market in the second half of each quarter.
