Great Wall Motor's February sales fell by 20% year-on-year, falling out of the supply shortage of the top ten ESP exclusive suppliers

On March 8, Great Wall Motor (601633. SH) released monthly production and sales data show that the total production of vehicles in February was 70,631 units, down 16.90% year-on-year and 36.55% month-on-month; the total sales volume in February was 70,792 units, down 20.50% year-on-year and 36.67% month-on-month.

From the perspective of Great Wall Motors' brands, haval, Great Wall pickup truck and Euler declined in February, and the output of the three brands fell by 27.71%, 11.40% and 24.09% respectively year-on-year, and the sales volume fell by 31.23%, 23.07% and 15.09% respectively year-on-year. The most affected is Haval, a major brand of Great Wall Motors, which produced 16,096 fewer units in February 2022 than in February 2021 and 19,073 fewer units than Haval's sales in the same period.

Great Wall Motor said in the announcement that the february production and sales data fell significantly, mainly due to the insufficient supply of body electronic stability systems (ESP) produced by Bosch Automotive Parts (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. Bosch is the exclusive supplier of ESP configurations for Great Wall Motors' main models. At the same time, Great Wall Motor also said that it is actively promoting the Bosch Group headquarters and chip suppliers to jointly formulate a production increase plan and strive to quickly solve the supply problem.

According to information released by the Association of Passenger Vehicles, Great Wall Motors is no longer in the top ten passenger car sales in China in February.
